Anzalone stuffed that middle in coverage, so Darnold couldn't hit those cross routes. He wanted to attack the CB's, but Cover Zero gave him no time. Glenn's blitz packages worked only because we had Anzalone back, and kudos to Amik for holding his own.

Goff did throw 2 INTs but outside those INTs, he had a fantastic night. Over 80% completion rate, completed multiple 3rd & 4th downs under tremendous pressures. That's why his QBR was 84.5, which is amazing.

However, with pressure there is a ton of space between the numbers all the passes for first downs were between the numbers

Valenti did both shows last Thursday and Friday talking about how historically bad the defense was, which is fine based off how they had performed the previous 4 games, but don't come on today and gloat about how right you were about Darnold while also largely dismissing how wrong you were about your faith in the defense. You can't deny that Darnold won them 14 out of 16 games before yesterday. Yesterday was more about the defense switching to man coverage and increasing the pressure on Darnold than it was him just being a bad QB. We got Darnold uncomfortable and off his game. So many guy's in the secondary also still had to step up and make huge plays. They proved Valenti wrong, but he "picked them to win" and said gingers can't play football so he was right!

He did not throw that ball thinking Jamo was going to catch it. It was actually a smart play by Goff, as the alternative would've been a safety.

It’s 50/50 Yes Aaron Glenn’s decision to blitz over 2/3 of the time caused Darnold who has been known to hold on to the ball too long, to speed him up, but Darnold still has to go out and miss a bunch of wide open receivers even when he wasn’t pressured, it was a little bit of both
