For all you warmed toned ladies who feel black honey is too cool - try tarte maracuja lip plump in honeysuckle! It’s got black honey vibes but with a touch of brown that works so well with my golden/warm light medium skin!

I swear black honey used to be a bit more brown back in the 90s. At least that’s how I remember it on me. It looks so red on me now. I’ll have to try honeysuckle

Yes, ladies, you are both right!! Black Honey looks more red than plum from what I remember. Blue toned reds are not great on me, and I need a little more brown toned colors. I also have the Tarte Honeysuckle (thanks to Emily's recommendation from last holiday), and that's a great alternative. Thank you for the reminder. It definitely is more flattering on me, and I'm fair to light neutral.

@pchen88 No, they are not. Tarte does have a new lip plumper line, but it's not the Honeysuckle as mentioned above. A lot of brands have a separate lip plumping line. Just read the label before buying to make sure.

I used to absolutely love Clinique and all their products . I feel like over the years other company have surpassed them and they haven’t really upped their quality. The black honey was my ride or die and I like the cover girl lip balm in the dark berry a lot better and looks the same. Just feels so much better on my lips.

Tip: new to me (but may be an old one) if you're someone who goes in with your lash curler after applying your first coat but end up losing lashes because they stick to the curler, try lightly powdering your curler....it works! You might have to comb through the lashes after, to separate them, but they will look like falsies 😊

Hi em! Loved this review. You pronounced "ube" correctly! If youre interested to know, its a purple yam native to the Philippines and has a sweet nutty flavor comparable to vanilla and pistachio :) I'ts often used in sweet desserts!

Pink Honey is my favorite! I didn't know they still make it. It looks a bit different than I remember. I love the full sized slim metal tubes. I got the ELF one and took my black honey and compared the color next to each other on my lips. Exactly the same color! I don't like the formula quite as much, but it's such a great dupe. One day I'll have to try Tower 28 when I have some money.

Clinique had a whole line of different shades in the Black Honey line many, many years ago. They had one called Black Raspberry that was gorgeous! I was devastated when they discontinued it.

I got this lip kit and excited to break them open. had the eczema issues on my lips for about 3 years and have flair ups at times. So frustrating. And I got the too faced cheek kit. With the Black and Pink Honey lip colors, I think you need to remember that they’re not trying to be balms. The name of them was very purposeful : Almost Lipstick. So I guess my question would be- does it feel like a lightweight lipstick? Like a sheerly pigmented light weight lip product? Because as long as it’s doing that I feel like it’s meeting its expectation. And I wouldn’t be disappointed about the formula not being super moisturizing or balmy. Just that it’s comfortable and low maintenance.

Clinique Honeys: I looked at the ingredients. I truly believe these are formulated to morph w your pH/body heat, whatever it is. And, I truly believe Clinique doesn't advertise this on purpose. When I put on BH, yes, it changes. 😊

You’re probably on to something there. The color looked different here than older version and I was thinking they must have changed it. I personally liked the old, more brown undertone better though. This version is more red to my eye. Still pretty but not the same.

Black honey and pink honey are both great colors but unfortunately there is a formula issue, and in my experience and within the reviews on Ulta, some folks are experiencing extreme dryness after 1 day of wear. The colors are dupeable, so that's good at least.
