Liquid Feed Supplement

We're feeding a rotation of straw and hay to our pregnant cows and heifers. Have you ever tried this with large squares?

Shouldn't make any difference it soaks in pretty well. I all round I like them because they will shed the weather better.

How well does the entire bale soak up the liquid supplement? I thought about doing that to my corn stalk bales but the cows seem to eat most of it anyways!

When in the feeder you can see the red spots on the straw. I adding for added protein because of drought and hay has lower % this year. Your cows look in good shape if anything to me maybe to good. We used to keep them fat but seem to have a lot less issue's making them work a bit more. I feed about once a week. Silage 6 loader buckets 5 hay bales and 3 straw. Unless you have a feed issue I don't think I wouldn't bother. But it does slow the hay down and likely depends on the year, this straw is pretty nice they will eat it without it.

69druth yeah, it was just and idea, and they eat about 75% of the corn stalks so I won't worry about it! I figure about 35 days and they will be on pasture, I hope!

The worst of it is is getting up on them. Two people could do it easy one with loader and tote and one on bales.

looks thick like oil, but then again oil wouldn't have bubbles. is that stuff kinda like molasses? did u c my video about. it's not easy! that's what the title is. in the end, I mentioned I want to farm

No it sticks to the straw sometimes I flip them and pour the other side after a day or so. thanks

we use liquid supplement but put it right in the mixer wagon

That may be down the road. As you seen my mixer burns too much fuel LOL
