Will LIRR continue to serve the Belmont Park stub station platforms? Will they run a rail shuttle from the new Elmont Stadion to the Belmont Park platforms?

I’m pretty sure the spur will still be served during events, it’s just that it won’t receive regular service like Elmont does

So they said the station is gonna be a full time station for the Hempstead Branch, so are they gonna reconfigure the tracks cause westbound trains can’t stop at the station when they leave Bellerose

That would be the only way Hempstead trains could stop at both Elmont and Bellerose full time. If they’re not adding those extra switches, then they’d have to send Port Jeff or Ronkonkoma expresses to Elmont when going westbound which is suboptimal

This station has NOTHING to do with helping the community. It’s spitting distance from QV and bellerose. It’s only purpose is for the arena.

1:38 the text says it is a diesel loco and it sounds like it. but at the locomotive wheels I can see some shoes on the 3rd rail to receive electric power. why is that? when a diesel always need 3rd rail, diesel makes no sense.

These are actually dual mode locos. Trains aren't allowed to run under diesel power when traversing through Manhattan (as LIRR trains do to get to Penn Station and the West Side Yard), so the MTA uses dual modes to allow continuous operation from diesel territory into Manhattan. Dual modes are generally not efficient under electric power, which is why diesel is used whenever allowed.
