The swatch comps folks are so confusing. The purple palette swatches you showed mixed with the viseart swatches when talking about myth? We couldn’t tell which swatches were myth and which were the viseart comparison swatches? Really confusing way to swatch these and it’s confusing to see the swatches at all
@Aijingaling2 жыл бұрын
Hi Kamren, I didn't have good shots of a couple of palette arm swatches so I inserted the clips of the palette swatch from the comparison swatches. In ALL of the comparisons, the LE palette was ALWAYS on the left side of the screen. Also, I talk about the shades in the EXACT order that I swatched them. I also labelled the shades next to the swatch in those clips as best as I can. Hope that clears things up! :)

@@Aijingaling I disagree with the comment above. I thought you did a great job with the swatches and I found the comparisons interesting. Your whole review was really thorough and informative. I also think it's cool that you are a fan of Lisa's but you can also be frank and critical. I think sometimes people buy into the hype and mystique of her make up (I'm guilty of that too!) and be hesitant to admit that not every product is perfect for everyone. I've had some hits and some misses with the Lisa Eldridge products I've bought so far, and thorough and thoughtful reviews like yours can help people avoid some of the ones that may turn out to be misses for them. I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the new lipstick shades!

aijing you definitely make the most comprehensive LE videos on youtube. i find with the LE website, her official swatches look completely different from what they actually look like irl, its almost deceptive, especially the luxuriously lucent range where the colours look so opaque on the models... i don't own any of LE products due to the high price point but i always get excited for her releases, this latest release has been especially tempting. also thank you for the side by side lip swatches with her existing shades, no one else takes the time to do that. cannot wait for the lipstick review, also your hair looks fab in this one :D

Thanks for all the deets and effort you put into this video! As a fellow Asian and Lisa Eldridge fan I was really curious as to whether these palettes were worth the money and how they would look on Asian skin! You pretty much answered all of my questions about it. I was sorely disappointed that Sorcery is sold out, as that was what intrigued me the most, as well as Myth. (Am surprised that no one has compared Myth to Natasha Denona's Lila palette or Pat McGrath's La Vie En Rose palette, as they have very similar color stories!) As an fan of bold shimmer and shine I don't think I'd be wowed by any of these other than Sorcery, so am hoping she'll restock soon! The Sorcery lipstick also looks great on you. Now I want it as well, haha! Again, thanks so much for this review... I do appreciate it and can't wait to see your LE new lipstick review!💌

Thank you for all the thought and work you put into this review. It's a refreshing video, as most are bordering on too reverent. Talented and lovely as Ms E is. That's very interesting and curious that some of the pans were glued on. Presumably those spaces were still magnetic? Removing the glue to replace the pan might be a hassle. Cinnabar was the one I was most likely to purchase. And I would eventually change the palette to predominantly matte textures, so discovering that some pans were glued in would have peeved me given the cost. I assume that Lisa is addressing that issue.
@Aijingaling2 жыл бұрын
It was so odd that they were glued, it was still magnetic but just had a random dot of glue. I could still detach it, just had to push a little harder. No shadows broke. So it wasn’t a problem in the end but just odd! Thank you for watching ❤️

Such a great review! I've been watching other people's reviews and have been feeling like they look so lightly pigmented but no one really mentioning that? So I'm relieved to hear you say it! Oh no sorry Yana (I hope that’s your name), I just tested this out for you and I think maybe the natural hair is a touch better with velvet formula but synthetic works pretty much the same. Lisa sells synthetic hair brushes on her website so I assumed her formula was made with that in mind too. ☺️ the pale shades are still too pale for me no matter which brush I used 😑 hope this helps ❤️

Nice! I always appreciate it when I see someone putting a lot of time and energy into a review. Makeup is subjective, but I have noticed sone trends when it comes to KZbinrs reviewing these pallets (I’m glad many do this, btw). I can’t help getting tickled when I see younger women - girls saying they didn’t see the lid smoothing effects. You’re not supposed to, yet. They don’t need the smoothing aspect (it’s obviously not going to harm but they won’t see the full effect) but one day they will see the difference and appreciate it. You are correct. There is also a blurring that is nice. Pay off isn’t always a big deal for me personally. I love shades that that are close to my skin tone. It’s nice to have a base that blurs/smooths (when that is a factor), and lays down a solid foundation for the shades I will use to deepen the crease, on the lid, etc. Today I did a very soft eye look with the mattes from Cinnabar and Vega that was only meant to provide definition. I was wearing minimal makeup (tinted sunscreen, concealer where needed, light bronzer, barely there blush, tinted lip balm, etc) and didn’t want my eyeshadow to stand out compared to the rest of the look. I appreciate shades that are more subdued for day to day wear. Some of the darker shades that would provide more payoff on a spectrum of deeper skin tones are ones I would only use sparingly in select locations. Women with the deepest skin tones would do the same with the lighter shades that might be nice in the inner corner on them. It can help lay down a nice base for shimmer. I adore these pallets! I’m 47 and am so glad that Lisa (close in age) kept more seasoned women in mind. I don’t agree that we can’t wear sparkle but she did go a good job making it more wearable/functional for the 40+ crowd, your typical makeup wearer, the office crowd, etc… *My autocorrect has gone wild. Had to edit.

I wanted CT pillow talk, dreams and pops for a long time. I am fair-skin, so muse shows up beautifully on me. And 59€ is better than 150€. I picked up the muse palette instead because I have been wanting CT quads for so long. Now I have it in LE formula, which makes me happy :) (LE is one of my fave brands, finally found my correct foundation that matches me and I discovered that I have rosy undertones, not neutral thanks for her samples) I also love the highlighters (pink moon and crystal nebula) and the lucent lipsticks :) so seems like I am the only one happy with the muse palette. Granted it isnt revolutionary colour story, but I did not have those tones in my own collection. Also love the fact if I ran out of 1 shade, I can just buy that one shade, not the entire palette again. Also also, been looking for a dupe of CT limited edition single eyeshadow (jewel pot in pillow talk) and Love in Venice is so similar, just not as glittery.

With regard to the shipping situation, it happened the same to me. I placed a very big order (big enough for free express shipping) within the first 5 minutes of the launch and I didn't get my package until yesterday. I contacted customer service and I got canned replies about high demand and orders shipping until November 23rd at the latest. I'm not a KZbinr though so, although it annoyed me because I thought orders would be shipped IN ORDER, I wasn't angry. What really pissed me off is that I received an e-mail saying that the Pompadour pouch was sold out and that, if I wanted one, my package wouldn't ship until November 28th. I contacted them and told them that it was unacceptable that having placed my order within the first five minutes of the launch I wouldn't receive a pouch just because they decided to ship other orders before mine. They replied saying that the had managed to find a pouch for me. They still didn't expedite the processing time, but at least I got the pouch without having to wait until the 28th. I've order many times from Lisa since she launched her brand, both make-up and jewellery and I've never had to wait so long to get my package when I had express shipping, so I was very disappointed.

Sorry to hear that happened to you too. Fulfilment was badly organised. I also saw a a review of someone, who got 3 lipsticks and 3 eyeshadow palettes, getting 2 pouches. I don't know how she managed that, but it felt a little unnecessary especially as there are people who won't even get one!

I've also really struggled with all the lightest shades...and I'm much fair-er than you :( I love all the textures, but also find that the "metallics" are not very impactful, and fade from my lids easily as well. I also find the 2 metallic/shimmery shades in Cinnabar to be really far too similar in colour -- I really wish that there were a more brown, actually shiny metallic instead. I like your reviews! subscribed:)

I ordered muse and myth, and I was disappointed with muse. It's not bad, but there are a lot of Korean palettes that have that kind of similar range at half the price. The packaging is everything like those vintage packaging that Lisa loves so much. It fits so nicely in the hand and has great weight. The packaging really is the selling point and what doubles the price here.

Excellent review but wish you’d done the swatches separately. Like having the metallics and luster, sparkle etc all swatched on one arm ut was really hard to tell what was what. If each formula were swatched totally separately on the arm with no other formulas on the arm that would’ve helped more see what’s what i think

I wanted people to see how the different metallic formulas and matte formulas compared to each other. Again, all of these clips did have labels and which palette they came from. However, I didn't want to label every single clip to be distracting. Thank you for the feedback, but I hope you can see why I did what I did. Also, I hope my reply cleared up any confusion you may have had.

Also the comparison swatches on the palm, like i couldn’t tell what shade was what? I think a still frame of the comparison swatches with the names nest to them would’ve helped. Having a moving frame was difficult to see what comparison shade was what. Just using a still frame there with he names next to the shades would’ve helped.
@Aijingaling2 жыл бұрын
I had a clip where all of the shades were labeled in order. I didn't include the names in all the clips because I didn't want it to be distracting. I used my palm because it tends to show reflectivity/multichromy-ness better. I didn't want to use still frame for that reason too. Just to clarify, it goes Mercurial, Glassbull colour pop, Milkie way sydney x temptalia collab, VR violet from PM subliminal, metamorphosis from sigma enchanted palette. None of them were exact dupes of mercurial.

Oh, I totally have to disagree with you about Sorcery. I own a few PMG palettes, including Subliminal, and I actually find it easier to build up the metallics in Sorcery vs the gold and blue metallics in Subliminal, where I really need to use a glitter glue or similar to get the finish I'm looking for. Also, Sorcery blends more easily than my PMG shadows, has much less fallout, doesn't emphasize texture on my lids, and can be easily built up or worn as a sheer wash of colour. I adore the colour story of Subliminal so much that I want to love it more than Sorcery, but I much prefer the LE formulas. To me it's less about whether a shadow has impact or not - that's a matter of taste. It's just about what the consumer values and whether the particular product is suited to what they value.

The different pans aren’t because they were produced at different factories. It’s about the formulas. Some of the new Natasha Denona palettes have the bumpy underneath pan too. It’s about the formula, the sheer more sparkle ones have that kind of different pan. Nothing to do with different manufactures like you said though.
