It wasn't until halfway through season one the decision was made to let the two sitcoms intertwine and thus let Ursula appear as well. Bearing in mind there were several months between Phoebe's appearance in Mad About You and Friends. It was a matter of coincidence that Lisa Kudrow was chosen for the role of Phoebe after going through three audition rounds, more than the other six cast members, and the decision happens to be made to let Ursula cross over in the Friends universe as well.

Am I the only one who thinks it is sweet that Kelly walked in and saw her boyfriend kissing another woman, and never doubted him. Knowing he would never cheat on her. That is something you don't see a lot on tv. If that was any other show, that would have included a big fight/confrontation that most likely would have ended with them breaking up. Just saying I would like to see that kind of trust a bit more often.

Kathy Griffin wrote in her memoir that when she and Lisa were in the Groundlings together, Lisa wasn't getting much work despite her obvious talent. Then she dyed her hair blonde and got breast implants and magically started getting work. She figured out how to trick people into perceiving her as a dumb blonde, which is extremely marketable in comedy and in Hollywood, despite being an incredibly intelligent, medically trained Vassar grad and Groundlings alum. Personally, i think she's gorgeous either way and looks naturally beautiful to this day
