Lisa Stansfield is one of those artists that I thought should have been way bigger than she is commercially speaking. Her white soul voice is a potent force to be reckoned with. I'll admit to being a fan of only some of her material. Noteworthy examples include the obvious "All around the world" and "In all the right places". The music at the beginning of this clip sounds fantastic. I wish whatever song it is part of had been released as the lead single instead of "Everything" (which has a great bridge but a flat and lackluster chorus). That being said, it is really great to see veteran artist like her put the kind of effort in the recording studio that new artists do despite the rampant ageist bias that keeps great artists like these quite far from the public eye. Anyway, I am definitely looking forward to Lisa's return!

Yay! Yet another album from Lisa and the gang! Truly thrilled. Now that I've let go of the fact that her vocals just aren't going to soar like they used to, I will expect the album to rely on her classic soul intuition and keen sense of song writing skills. As this teaser promo vid shows, it's a huge collaborative effort and long time musician/songwriters Ian, Snowboy, and the rest of the gang, know how to produce fantastic music. I wonder if the title, "Deeper," is a play on an upcoming song and the fact that her voice is super deep post all the years of smoking. It will be interesting to hear how she handles her limited range in this set of upcoming tracks. I personally think she should stay in her lower range instead of trying to recreate her previous vocal stylings. She used to be a powerhouse! For the past decade, her live vocals have been pretty disappointing and sometimes cringe worthy. Nevertheless, I'm still a fan and I hope the new album (and remixes) are solid. Thanks for the continuous music, Lisa!

Been a massive fan of Lisa since 1989, had the misfortune of meeting her a few years back and she was the most rudest, ignorant person I have ever met and was massively disappointed by her behaviour! I for one will NOT be purchasing this album and loving the fact she is a "has been" who has to recently resort in playing in outlet malls across Europe! "Rochdale Rough at it's best".
