Man, I just tried a no joy run, I thought I got every EXP possible, sold my fancy perfumes, but I still only ended up with like 10 jerky by the time I made it to Big Lincoln. Still haven't managed to topple him without joy.

The build up for this guy was really cool, with three macho bodyguards talking about how strong he was followed by an enormous field full of graves, then finally the room he's in with bodies everywhere.

Big Lincoln, the literal top dog of Olath. Sure Sindy and Satan are absolute monsters In their own rights. But Satan had purposely isolated himself and canonically lost to a injured brad and his small army of followers and sindy (albeit he was still an complete menace) had been captured. While Lincoln, a dude who purposely put a big target on his head by crowning himself the top boss is given a gigantic space of land to himself that not even joy monsters dare go near; And he possibly goes out of his way to kill people in buzzo’s gang for taking joy. Sindy is also pretty much Lincoln’s hype man. Not only that, but big Lincoln can send you to hell while being the only person who gets his prayers answered by whatever god-like being he gets heals from.

Unfortunately there's not much you can do to make the Joyful hard, since you only have one character for most the thing the whole this is pretty much just "heal now, hit now" instead of any actual kind of tactics and risks you got from The Painful's multiple characters and perma-kill attacks.

Well most of Lisa the Painful enemies are relatively easy. I would say Big L is the strongest challenge in the game, especially without joy. I mean there are so many stupid powerful abilities characters have in the painful, which is fine because the general depth of characters tool kits are crazy solid, but like Lisa the Painful isn't really hard. You'd have to do something like Brad only to make the game hard after a first time playthrough. Brad only is fun tho, even though some boss fights suck on it. Regardless, I would consider this fight harder than anything the Painful had.

@@ilovenierreplicant2983 Honestly, Joyful seems pretty easy when you have a character that can get crits and bleeds pretty consistently, along with a healing move and copious amounts of Jot. Add that with the fact that Buddy doesn't have to deal with withdrawal, is a TP character and you only have to worry about HP, Joyful can be both easy and monotonous. The difficulty comes with the fact that you spend a good portion of the game with one character.

Sindy Gallows was a cooler boss fight for the reason of him not being super hyped up. Big Lincoln was # 1 and everyone was talking such a big game about him but he wasn't anywhere near as bad as Sindy Gallows. He was hanging with arrows on him and he still fought hard!

I didn’t take on Sindy Gallows until after Big L, and man, that fight was a fight too remember, I got bodied by Big L with my last few capsules of Joy I pulled out the win, but with Gallows, the atmosphere of that fight was amazing.

I don't know, i never used joy in my play-throughs. I just thought it would be a pain in the ass with out having the mend skill, but with joy boosting you I assume it's a lot easier.

When Joyful was first released Buddy didn't have Mend - only Flash and several different stab skills, most of which were very samey. Eventually there was a patch; it changed her skills up, as well as added actual equipment and the Easy Mode guy in.

In my opinion buddy should not be respected as an ultimate war lord, sure she killed all the others but she killed more than half with help from another person far stronger than her, and brad killed another 3, she didnt even kill last 3 alone legitimately, dice was a stupid joy mutant, and sindy was literally a foot from deaths door with the arrows and noose around his neck.
