Sounds reasonable as a whole, and very very comparable to the prices here in Sofia, Bulgaria. However, the inflation of the past 2-3 yrs have eaten a lot of the people's purchasing power, and I think this is valid for most places in the world today. I lost like 35-50% of my salary purchasing power, because of it. The only thing, that saves me from not ending the month around the 0 (after covering my routine spending) is the fact, that I own my apartment, since this is my place of birth.

The renting sounds very similar to western costs, but your costs for internet access is extremely cheap while say for example UK for a 50+ Megabit connectivity will be about 7 times your current connection costs with unlimited downloads per month. The cost of fast food sounds very similar in costs including the fancy restaurants too. Your mobile phone costs sounds very similar in monthly costs too. Like anywhere if you goto outskirts of a city or town renting will cost far less, and so if your living costs is within your income well done if you’re able save for buying a home or a car in the future. So, if you were classed unemployed say on State benefits do you get free healthcare including free dental care, and cost of renting is covered by the State Benefits too?

It is necessary to understand that Lisa rents an apartment, if a person lives in his own apartment then there are no expenses of $400 $1000... Such owners in Russia are the absolute majority. Renters are emigrants who have not yet bought their own housing or are in Russia temporarily. Unskilled workers usually receive $500-800 in Moscow, skilled workers $1000-1500, but there are many people with an income of $2000-3000. In addition, salary is not all income. Moscow is a great place to work and save money. However socially, as an American it can be difficult. Everyone is so obsessed with America that if you introduce yourself as one they say wow, go through a list of stereotypes. They seem glad to meet you but it's more a reflection of their excitement about the country and not you as an individual. So it's an added layer of social complexity. Also there are many beautiful women who just want English practice. So, if you dream of moving here. Maybe it's better to be married already or date other foreigners.
