For me, I choose what travel channels I watch based on how much I like the personality of the vloggers. I love watching you two! So while I do tend to gravitate towards travel content in Asia (cuz that's where I most want to travel to in the future) I'm excited to watch your videos no matter where they're filmed. And the videos filmed in countries that I am less interested in just help me enjoy things outside the box to me. All that to say, I'll watch your vids no matter where they're filmed!

My wife and I have watched all your videos over the last couple of years. Starting with the Japan ones when we were planning a trip. When we were planning our honeymoon in the UK, we specifically looked to see if you had any videos for it. Unfortunately, you didn't yet. The video choices we did have were useful enough but they didn't have the vibe your videos have that we both love. I think there's a strong case to say that you have our favorite channel. In short, we'd love if you all did videos in Europe or elsewhere. We watch them regardless if we had immediate plans to travel there.

Guys, this was a great video! I can’t imagine how difficult it was to film a “how we do” vs. “”how to” video while trying to film a travel video. However, to answer Josh’s question about do we care about London. We enjoy watching your videos regardless of location. Lisa and Josh bring energy and excitement to the location. I only hope that our channel can one day inspire people to travel as much as you guys do. Thanks for all that you guys do!

What a revealing episode! KZbin behind the scenes tempered with a willingness to expose more than finances or techniques. What sets apart your channel is the attempt, dedication, and reality of real film making. So many travel vlogs are designed, edited, and released “the next day” from a motel room or during a long haul flight. It shows. A Lisa and Josh long form vlog has so much thought and effort which I appreciate seeing the process. Also, it is nice noting the true collaboration between the two of you in that film making process. I came in with the Camino and have especially enjoyed the Iceland and Japanese rail episodes. It does appear to be a lot of work for modest returns. Hope the next year catapults your channel to much greater visibility. Cheers!

You two definitely do enough per video. If anything, you spending 3 days in one place and doing so much feels kind of unattainable to a slow moving traveler like me. Cut yourselves some slack, many or few, whatever you do in a location is interesting and worth watching! We love you guys and have followed you for years. Much love ❤️

Wow, I didn't know so much went into making your content. I enjoyed this video because it gave your viewers a sneak-peak into your lives and we got to see the "real" Lisa and Josh. People aren't naive enough to believe that everything is sunshine and roses all the time, but it seems that's what most travel vloggers try to do, especially the younger ones, but I feel like you guys do a great job of capturing both the fun and less-fun side of traveling. Also, I reckon a bunch of your viewers get inspired by your videos and question whether this is something they could do themselves (myself included) and now that I see what it actually takes to make great content, I think I'll leave it in your more-than-capable hands! Keep up the fantastic work!

I support your channel because your personalities that shine through (the location is secondary); this was a really interesting BTS perspective! The voiceover recording and thought processes were especially fascinating and I love how it's truly a joint effort. The giant glass board in the background and wall-staring were just as interesting as the step-by-step, and I truly appreciate the attention to detail and all of the tiny adjustments you take the time to make so that our viewer experience is all the better -- it's really appreciated!

Josh, I am watching behind-the-scenes videos on how you create KZbin videos. First off I love your authenticity. I appreciate that you two do not take advantage of a shock value video and title grab. Yes, I want to see Europe videos. I love everything you all post. If I was a shut-in person. Your videos would be a lifeline. ❤

This is a really long winded comment and idk if you will ever read it but y’all are the best. Y’all make dope videos for us regular folks and it’s always valuable information or entertaining to watch. This video was super insightful and illustrates that even if you’re a big channel or small channel like us, the similarities are apparent. I (Marlon) struggle to film myself in public, have issues with trying to come up with something interesting to say in each scene, and find it difficult to create alluring thumbnails. People think YT is easy but it requires a lot of effort! So kudos to y’all for enduring! I learned a lot from this video too so big thanks to the two of you! Y’all’s authenticity, genuineness, and humor in addition to the Anthony Bourdain style storytelling is strongly conveyed from all of your videos. And I think those are compelling reasons why you all have 100k+ subs. The commitment to crafting videos is all in the details and its exhibited in your final product. As far as should y’all film in Europe? I’d say continue to film what you guys want to do and where you want to visit. We’d be stoked to watch either way! Safe travels!

In short, Yes to Europe! Longer answer... You guys (along with Onepackwanderers) made Asia seem less scary and more accessible to me as a solo traveler, and I took my first trip to Asia (South Korea) a few months ago. While I have been to Europe several times, I generally stay within whatever major city I fly into. I'd love to get some pointers / inspiration from you guys to help me branch out, further away from major cities. Honestly, though, you guys are awesome and I watch all your videos. Keep it up!

You have the best travel videos on KZbin. Are you certain it’s the thumbnails holding back your growth? I think they’re perfectly authentic, eye catching, and informative. I’d guess that the video length and once a month posting are more likely the reasons your channel is growing slowly. I love your long form, but it can take me a while to find a time to watch, and I’m more likely to split it up over several sessions. I’d be interested in seeing short (10 min) rough cuts every week that give a taste of the long movie to come. But whatever you decide, I’ll be watching. Europe is great, but I’d really love to see more of Hawaii - getting around the islands, visiting on a budget if possible, the neighborhoods, the foods. More of the South Pacific and Asia, too. Best of success to you!

Hey guys, really enjoyed this. We're big fans and like many of your viewers I think we see a lot of you in us, which makes your content feel close to home. I've been (obsessively!) studying KZbin for a long time and I saw someone else suggest shorter videos. I think you know why that isn't correct and also think you've talked about it before on your podcast. Anyway, I think your thumbnails are mostly above average. The basic rules of thumbnails are Bright & Inviting, Intriguing, and 3 or fewer points of interest. You mostly do fine with that! International & domestic travel audiences on KZbin are kind of fragmented. Europe will work; but it will take some time just like Asia did. Asia is where your channel really started finding traction so naturally you have more viewers interested in that content and the impressions hit better. If you only ever cater impressions to your current audience, I think it will hurt your channel in the long run by making you a little captive to only those type of videos (in this case, Asia travel). Through My Lens is on a similar trajectory; they do mostly domestic US travel and are curious about international. I think you just have to stick with it and really hone the craft of planning for those ones in the early going is all. My big question for you is how you make value $ decisions for what videos to make and where to go. At the end it looks like you said you spent $2,000 for the London video; which given that you're on the gamified $150 budget for the video, means you probably spent $800-$900 per person in flights to get there? I think for me, I want to look at it like, "Okay, this is a $2000 trip, what's the likelihood we're getting $2001 back on views/duration, etc." $2000 for one day is a lot; you're probably looking at 150K~ views in that case as a breakeven, give or take? Since in this case your most expensive individual purchase is the flights (as opposed to food, lodging, etc.) it probably makes sense to bank several videos from the trip to Europe. In other words, since flight is most expensive, try to only do it once. London is short train to Paris; another 24 hours in Paris is probably $200~ and then you're likely cutting into that deficit. String a few of those together and suddenly that expensive flight has some more offset. I like the motto, "The thing that hits us hardest happens least" - if accommodation is the worst value of your trip, stay fewer days. If it's flights, stretch what you do/produce. Etc etc. Again, big fans and wish you all the best. Thanks!

Ended up doing 90% voice overs. lol I’m glad that general anxiety is normal even With an established channel like yours. Will continue to watch wherever your travels take you. We just enjoy hanging out with y’all on your trips ❤

For what it’s worth I enjoy watching your content wherever you’re traveling! I consider myself to be a midrange budget traveler and sometimes find it unrelatable when I’m watching KZbinrs stay in 5 star hotels on every trip. Whenever I’m planning a new trip, I look to see if you guys have done a 3 days there video yet. I appreciate that you set a budget, but you’re realistic about how you sometimes go over the budget and that’s ok. Found you guys when you were filming a lot of Asia videos and hoping to see you guys branch out to Europe and South America!

FWIW, you could be recording videos in wheat fields in Kansas and I’d still love it! You both are so natural and relatable and fun! So it really doesn’t matter where you’re traveling, I’m here for you and to see the world thru your eyes. By the way, I live in Kansas and you’re always welcome!

Well done guys. I remember watching the video when you hit 5000 subscribers in a hotel room. I love watching your videos because it feels so real you inspired people to travel. Our family likes to travel ourselves and a lot of videos you made inspired us to go there. One particular example is Innsbrook Austria. Another one more recent, yes hiking Mount Fuji, which we plan on the near future. Plus so many more. About this video I really appreciate you guys sharing this. Me and my wife started uploading recent and pass travel videos. Of course I’m the one editing, N I know what exactly you’re talking about and I made some pointers in order to improve our own videos. keep it up, keep it real. You guys are an inspiration.

Super interesting! So much work that goes into this! I love watching your travel videos and it's got a lot to do with you and your personalities - more than the actual place tbh. Always makes me want to travel and explore. As a European I would love to see you film more here but I totally get that it's expensive 😬
