I'll start with the obvious. Lisa Loeb is the youngest-looking 51 year-old here that I've ever seen. That said, thanks to Ethan Hawke for making sure this beautiful song saw the light of day back in late 1993. With his help, Lisa Loeb became the first artist without a recording contract to have a #1 hit song.

@D.S.G Dolo The completed film with soundtrack debuted at the Sundance Film Festival in January 1994, so the soundtrack version of "Stay (I Missed You)" was obviously recorded in 1993 or earlier. She was performing the song in her concerts in 1992. It's true that the song wasn't released as the first single from the soundtrack album until 1994.

As a filmmaker I think that it is one of my favourite video and I am gobsmacked that Ethan Hawke filmed it and came up with the concept. It absolutely works with the almost conversational aspect of the lyrics. The closest I've seen to that single take was the Animals House of the rising Sun and that was actually probably 3 takes. 10 out of 10.
