My wife & I have a Zoe 50 135GT & an ID3+ 1st, both have CCS DC charging & the range is broadly similar but the VW can charge at twice the speed. If I was to choose between them it would be a difficult choice, we love our Zoe, it is our 2nd Zoe.

Marcus, if you researched beforehand the NCAP ratings for the Renault Zoë, before you undertook taking it for a drive, with your beloved wife and daughter, would you still have used it with the Zero rating it achieved? The difference between your own VW ID3 and the Zoë, is not only the size of the battery, or the charging speed, but most importantly, the safety! Tell us all about the safety and after, how comfortable the seats are.

The latest poor NCAP rating for the Zoe came out after I did this drive, by about 1 week. 🤣 I prefer the ID.3 over the Zoe, my wife and daughter prefer the Zoe. I would never buy a new Zoe with such a poor rating.

How quiet was the Zoe and how were the seats? How did comfort compare to the ID3?? Ps. What is the price of this car and the 50kwh version compared to a 58kwh ID3 Life? Thanks.

The Zoe was quiet except for some strange creaking that happened occasionally. The Zoe is more comfortable than the ID.3, watch this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ooGpkJqgaZ6katU The price is very similar to the price of the ID.3 Life in Portugal. The ID.3 is much better value for your money.

@@marcusevjourney566 re the creaking. I took my ZE50 back to dealers with a stange seat creaking noise. They ordered a new seat plate and once fitted the problem was fixed. Love my Zoe this is my 2nd. But disappointed about the air bag problem EV Nick has reported on

What is full charging cost ? Zoe ?

take the kWh price of your country for AC charging x 19 kWh / hkm in this conditions. He had used 50 kWh for his 276 km trip - but I guess in most countries the consumption would be higher nowadays in winter. And prices depend where you can charge a lot. Cheapest is solar charger at home, then lidl aldi ikea chargers that are free, then your usual home plug where your computer runs from too and on a public charger prices raise up to fast charging like 50 cent for charging a Porsche up to above 300 kW or 15 times faster then the 22 kW AC charger. But here public prices have doubled within 3 years from 24 cent to over 50 cent / kWh. Diesel can be cheaper if you have to pay for the kWh.

It is a difficult question to answer because it depends how and where you charge. Pricing can be widely different. At home I have solar so it is cheaper.

I wouldn't by a car where driving at 100km/hour was considered a realistic or necessary option.

be happy if it is an option cause due to energy crisis sooner or later you will find a 100 km/h limit across europe for sure. Just a question of climate change.

AC 22 kW charging can be very useful, particularly at destination chargers. In my opinion all EVs should come with 22 kW AC as standard and CCS as standard 🤣

Happy new year. I would not get that car for sure considering Renault saving money and making profit from cutting safety features. This is not the first time Renault is fooling customers cause I can remember the days when you could only rent the battery on certain cars and vehicles, how Renault fooled you once in the chains of a Twizzy, a car you got without the battery and got a rent based on your battery usage or km you rode. Once the first battery rent was over and you needed a new contract or prolonge the current one they changed the details in the contract for their favor and the price increased a lot from 30 to 50€ which equals 66% within 3 years. The width is another issue cause it is quite small inside or a shoulder to shoulder ride. Finally the seats are worse in my opinion. Overall Renault is ruining its reputation here selling the car for higher prices than elsewhere with less extras, also the safety has become a general issue considering that they moved a lot of their factories outside of the EU into cheap north africa and the same for their cheap entry brand Dacia, which now is producing cars in china they then sell in europe for twice the price with not many features added. Get a dacia spring and close the doors, especially back door: crazy cheap sound with no damping at all, also welding issues, rust preparation missing in certain spaces. Maybe Renaults race cars are better but the EV's are loosing ground year by year.

Happy new year Wolf. I like the width of the Zoe it is easy to park. 🤣 It is much smaller inside than the ID.3 particularly for back seat passengers. It is a disgrace what Renault are doing, this would never have happened under Ghosn. He had a good vision for EVs. I would never buy a car from China even if it was super cheap and better. I prefer to buy my cars from democracies.
