I AGREE 100%. I’ve always said that we need to start teaching children that not all monsters look like the boogie man and not all monsters are strangers either. In the piece, Harry stated that Kevin Spacey groped him when he was 18-years old, i.e., a high school senior. " "After a few minutes, he put his hand on my thigh. Finally (finally, finally) I became suspicious,” Harry wrote, referring to a few previous interactions that should have raised red flags. “It took that long because it just never occurred to me that Kevin would be interested in me in the first place. He was an adult man, a hero of mine, my dad’s boss, none of which were categories on my radar for sexual interactions. Besides, I thought, Surely he can’t be coming on to me like this right in front of my dad.” "Harry recalled that his father didn’t notice the inappropriate touching “because he was deeply focused on his script.” Richard Dreyfuss later confirmed to Buzzfeed that he had not seen the incident and only heard about it years later from his son. A word of caution. Dear young men and women who were raped as a child. As a childhood rape survivor, I implore you to seek out therapy and get that out of your minds as soon as possible! Tell whoever you have to. Don't make the mistake of thinking that over time you will simply forget about it.. That is NOT what will happen. It will fester in the back of your mind until it destroys you mentally. Will it happen like that for you if you *try* to bury the pain? I don't know. I kept silent for 26 years. The toll it took on me is unimaginable. Please don't make the mistake that I did in thinking that it would just fade away. Talking about it, IS the only way to release yourself from the pain.. There is something that I want to add to my original comment. Keep it front and center this one word *Denial* If you had a father or mother like I did, and that person did those things..be extra careful with family members when you speak up for yourself. I had to wait until my father passed away before I could say anything.. I'm not sure why. Regardless, my mother, whom I have had to cut from my life... I told her through some of the most painful tears that I had ever shed what my father was doing. She sat there silently for 90 seconds or so, looked me straight in the eye with contemp and disgust and declared that I "sound just like your sister" Yeah..what I found out that day about my only sister almost pushed me to the edge of the abyss. In hindsight, I wish I had spoken out before he passed away... because if I had known he did those things to my sister... I'd have put him in his grave myself. It's obvious that my mother couldn't care less. Be careful!

Just a reminder that there's such a thing as innocent until proven guilty. To my knowledge, he hasn't actually been found guilty in a court of law yet and all but one of his accusers has recanted their allegations, with some confessing that they fabricated them. Now, he may well be guilty, but one should always reserve judgement until all the evidence has been considered and a proper verdict rendered.

Is male victims of sexual abused get to speak up without being harassed and threatened. I was gang raped by high school football players when I was a preteen and could not get help. That was in the 80s and to this day I get death threats from the families of the boys that did it. The police told me if they didn't see it it never happened. I had all this triggered when one of my attackers cornered me in a garage and threatened me. I drew my sidearm and almost shot him down, bit didn't. That was three years ago and it left me in worse shape than the initial attack. I can find help and I'm thinking of killing him, even though he has friends that are cops and they look out for him. Why does no one help?
