I appreciate that you put up a commentary with a focus on lighting. Thank you!

Carpenter > every other director. He's the pinnacle. Eat me, Cameron, Scorsese, and Tarantino

I LOVE the commentaries! Thank you for posting them! Now, the lighting guy. Name the last lighting guy you heard on a commentary track........EXACTLY! John Carpenter couldn't find ANYONE else to talk to on this track!? If he sat there alone and only spoke sporadically it would be more interesting than this track. This is almost unlistenable. This guy is tedious! His droning voice is just awful! I think Carpenter did this as a joke! I love this movie, but damn this is painful to sit through!

This definitely comes off like Carpenter was trying to flip a big middle finger to someone behind the scenes. I feel like somebody tried to force him to fulfill his obligations to come back and record a commentary track and he wasn't happy about it.

@@CopiousDoinksLLC Carpenter and Kurt havin a true Bro moment talkin about The Thing is beautiful. The sound of John's lighter as he lights up yet another smoke! Now THAT'S a commentary track! This.... I don't know what this is!? It was painful, and I could not listen to any more. I love this film, but Damn!

Wow...I could only listen to half an hour of this commentary before I lost interest. Seems Carpenters main focus here was to give the listener a crash course on how to light a set. I'm also a bit miffed that both Sam Neill and Heston get elaborate introductions, and then, "oh, and this is Julie Carmen". I mean, shes not a big movie star or anything, but seems like he was intentionally downplaying her role in his movie. In any case, thanks for the commentaries, Cinema Voice. I keep looking forward to more in the future.

Man, I wish this had been done with Sam Neil and not the boring lighting guy.

Yeah, lighting guy was really the worst person to do this with. He had nothing to say other than how he lite everything.
