The ending gives me massive chills, because it is left ambiguous if the protagonist of the album actually made a difference in the outcome of the future of the planet or not, you have joe cleanly singing "We will see our children growing" which has a lot of hope behind it, but at the same time he's also screaming the same phrase, which creates this sense of doom and despair, he's screaming that because he really wants to believe it, but clearly knows that we will sadly not have a good future for our children, masterpiece of a song

To me, this song is about overcoming eco-anxiety and finding hope and the will to fight towards a better future. *** Lyrics / my analysis: Four hundred thousand years ago They came from outer space and gave us life here And we are just taking everything for granted I don't think we should do this now And when I see the smoke around I feel like I'm not from humankind down there I feel like glaciers are my eyes And mountains are my head, my heart is ocean And I feel all alone 'Cause everybody's wrong, I fear the living What is this thing that we call hate? And that's inside of me, get out of here [first verse describes our impending environmental doom and the feelings of the protagonist - they feel alone, estranged around other people, they fear and they hate] A world is down, and none can rebuild it Disabled lands are evolving My eyes are shut, a vision is dying My head explodes, and I fall in disgrace [the bridge sounds heavier and shows a hopeless scenario that deeply affects the protagonist, as they feel like falling in disgrace] I hold my inner child within And tell him not to cry: "Don't fear the living" One day you will stand as a king And no fear can erase this light below us Each one of us is now engaged This secret we all have, this truth is growing And as a warrior, I have to fight I can already feel the love I'll discover [second verse is calmer, as if the protagonist is getting over those feelings pf despair they once had. Visions of their inner child gave them hope for the future and, with that, the will to take action - now, the protagonist is a "warrior", motivated by hope ("I can already feel the love I'll discover")] I had this dream, our planet surviving The guiding stars always growing And all the worlds, the fates all the countries They're all rebuilding at the same time I never fell and always believed in We could evolve and get older Open thy eyes and let all this flow in Now see a new hope is growing inside [third verse is, again, heavier, as the protagonist describes a more vivid picture of their dream. This time, unlike in the bridge, the heaviness sounds more empowering, and incites us to take action towards a new, different future, something better than this capitalist dystopia we have now] We will see our children growing We will see our children growing We will see our children growing We will see our children growing We will see our children growing We will see our children growing We will see our children growing We will see our children growing We will see our children growing We will see our children growing We will see our children growing We will see our children growing We will see our children growing [yes, we will. The final outro repeat this affirmation, as to not make us forget about hope. We can make a better world for our children]

Nice analysis, and i think theres a lot of truth to it. But at the beginning you skipped over the first 2 lines which alot of people won't know of but are important. "They" who came here from outer space four hundred thousand years ago is a reference to Enki and Enlil - the Annunaki (the sky people). They came to Earth from they're own, after having lived here for thousands of years they sought help with the matters they were going through at the time. They engineered a species, manipulated the DNA of a species native to earth. Its still considered pseudo to many but there's facts everywhere, one of them being human chromosome 2 has clearly had edits made to it, it's the same chromosome that's responsible for most of our intelligence. Our DNA was altered skipping millions of years of evolution, but we became too noisy, too populous. And despite a flood to set the slate clean we still remain on this Earth, look what we have done to her, and ourselves
