Thanks Chris! I take most of my gear to a guy named Tom Ishimoto who has a repair business called Northridge Electronics. His shop was out in the Simi Valley area. But the last time I saw him maybe 4 months ago he said he was moving his office location. I just sent him an email to ask for his new location and I’ll forward it to you. Tom used to work for the original owner of Marantz, named Saul Marantz. Just a heads up, he requires a $75 deposit to look over and assess the problem(s) related to your gear. The $75 goes toward the final price if you decide to have him do the work. He’s very good and his turn around time his quick unless there’s a part supply issue for example. I do have another tech I use located in Cerritos, CA. His deposit is $25 and he’s very good too. But he takes a lot more time as he has a large backlog of work. His name is Ken and he owns Alpha Electronics. You would have to call and schedule a time to meet him at his shop. Alpha Electronics Inc. (562) 863-4712 goo.gl/maps/LnsKMtZeJrzhrsjR9

Thank you for watching and for your kind comments. Most appreciated. As you can see I have concentrated on vintage gear and that’s because of the looks and build quality back in the 70s. The VPI Scout TT was a nice addition roughly 3 years ago. Well built and American made. The moving coil cartridge on the tone arm is very good and doesn’t pick up much surface noise. Bought it to replace a vintage Pioneer PL-630 direct drive that has a speed drop once in awhile. It’s a beauty that I will get serviced. I subscribed to your channel and watched your room tour after your latest move. Very nice vid and you own a ton of records. I really like the “thumbnail” images you designed for your videos. I will check out more of them soon. I used to live up in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. in my college days at Lake Superior State. Hope you check out another Canadian KZbinr by the name of Frank Landry, Channel33RPM. Take care, Virgil

I like your turntable. I was about to get the scout 2 for 1200 in great condition but I ended up getting a new pro ject x2 i just didn’t want to deal with used table anymore in case that something happens. But the vpi is a great table

Hope you enjoy your Pro ject X2. I put my VPI away almost 8 months now. I have a restored Technics SL1800 and a Pioneer PL630. I made videos of each one. The Pioneer is a real beauty. What cartridge(s) are you using on your turntable?

richard abney Hey Richard, thanks for your nice comments! I use Microsoft Word to create the substitute for the J-card for my cassette tapes. I copy/paste the original Word file and reuse it for each tape. Of course I use a blue smiley face sticker on the end label so I know the tape was recorded on a Nakamichi deck. Take care!

It sounds like we live in the same area. I know zero about repairing vintage gear and have a tape deck I would like to get serviced. Do you have someone you recommend? Brooks Berdan in Monrovia told me it's not worth even bringing in unless I had some sentimental value tied to it. I just don't want to be changed $80 and be told oh yeah your right it doesn't work and we cant fix it.

Library Bookstore - Brook Berdan is about 10 minutes away. You might want to try Alpha Electronics in Norwalk close to Cerritos College. A father and son business. I have a Dual C939 cassette deck there for repair. It’s a very difficult deck to repair so it has been there with them for months. They required a $25 deposit to assess what needs to be done. www.google.com/search?q=alpha%20electronics Look me up on Facebook and Instant Messenger. I would be interested in your deck situation.
