There’s a lot of fan songs for Hazbin Hotel that are good there’s Royal Flush a husk song which is actually made by the same person who made the song addict. There’s also PARANOiD DJ who also has a few original songs that are great even cover songs (some are animated). Also BlackGryph0n who was the singing voice of Alastor in the pilot (he’s sadly no longer his singing voice) also did 2 original songs for Hazbin Hotel and I think working on a new one

I highly recommend the "Valentino" Hazbin Hotel Fan Animatic by Raphielle II. The song itself is not an original song, but it fits the Hazbin Hotel universe so much you'd think it was written for the show! She is actually one of the animators/choreographers for the official Addict video, and she made the Valentino video on her own time. The animatic is really impressive!

The amazing part for me after listening to this was going back and re-listening to Cherri and Angel's conversation in the pilot episode. What at first sounds like two tough-guys posturing takes on new meaning when you realise that neither of them are capable of a real heart-to-heart, so all the bro-banter is them attempting to reaffirm their friendship. Cherri passed it off as nonchalant but she wanted to know where Angel was staying and what his addiction and mental state were at, just like a real bestie would. Also Angel talking about what drugs he was on sounds like bragging, but he was actually giving her a laundry list of the things he was using to GO SOBER. These two are ride-or-die, but what Angel needs right now is money and influence to help him and those are the two things Cherri unfortunately doesn't have.

I kind of feel like it's the other way around, really. Maybe drugs have been Angel's way of self-medicating in response to trauma he's already been through. We can gather from this that he was already an addict when he was still alive ("despite having overdosed and ending up comatose"), Vivzie has talked about in interviews and such that he comes from a mafia family, which means a life already full of violence. We don't know how much of that is going to end up being in the full series but Angel is one of the two characters Vivzie has been working on the longest so it's likely a lot of his backstory and design was set as of the pilot. Anyway, I just think that it wasn't the drugs that originally *put* him in a bad place, it's the drugs he uses to escape from the bad place where he already lives... they're just a temporary escape, though.

I'm so glad you watched this and caught on to the underlying message. I was raised by recovering addicts (some who took their recovery more seriously than others) and I have people close to me who are very new in their recovery journey. I was raised in the 12-step program. While I was never an addict myself, I've listened to other addicts' stories. They all have similar themes of using as a means to "deal" with their trauma, but they were actually just chasing the high to forget and they often suffer under the delusion that they are having the time of their lives while high. If there is anyone in the comments who is in active addiction or knows someone in active addiction, please know that there is help out there for those who are willing to put in the work. Healing starts with the will to change. You've survived this long. You are not beyond redemption and healing.
