The song of Toshe Proeski was recorded just short before his tragic death... these lyrics heard and understood when you know that context and timing - chilling!
Toše Proeski, he had amazing voice, everybody loved him, such a great guy. There was no ex-Yu country that didn't love him. I still remember the day when I found out that he died, everyone was so sad.

There was no better vocalist than Tose Proeski, nor will there ever be in Balkans. He was and still is the king of Pop music in all of our countries in Balkans. He has the most beautiful pop songs in Balkans. No one will ever top him. And people loved him like he was their own, like he was a close relative, because he was such a nice soul. God gave him everything, the looks, the talent, the voice, the soul, and He took him away too early from us. He could have done so much more. He has a whole album in English called The Hardest Thing. Please give it a try, you will be amazed by his voice. He will always be number 1 in Balkan's pop music. I can't even imagine what his songs would sound like in his 40's and 50's, with years of experience and wisdom. Such a tragedy for all of the mankind, really.

Thanks for the reaction. To a Brit, I am thinking what would translate well to your earbuds and British "sensitivity", and then I remind myself that when music is good, it breaks all kind of barriers. Oliver Mandić (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oliver_Mandi%C4%87 ) was a shock to the system in Yugoslavia once he transformed his image (makeup, feminine clothes etc) and recorded his best songs - many of which were popular hits. @@EmmaAGould You closed your eyes, and as he began to sing, he said, "Ona ima oči, koje znaju tajne sve," which means "She has eyes that know all secrets." In that moment, you opened your eyes, it was as if he was singing for you. Try to find the rest of the song translated. You'll be surprised at how incredibly it resonates with your reactions, even if you don't understand a single word but somehow you understand it.

the first song would sound epic on spanish, it has catchy vibe in my opinion Tose Proeski is a second best vocal from those regions, and the best is Kristian Kostov that guy who performed for Bulgaria on the eurovision, tho his career is almost zero because he is making childish songs, and thats sad because his voice and emotions and bond with the song are out of this world

No way for Kristian , albeit talented and promising young musician , to even be included arguably in the "debate" to claim his place in the pantheon of musical greatness, especially when tied / associated with the name of Balkan legend Toše Proeski , whose immense and divine talent makes for an extraordinary league of its own among other world class artists !! The only other parallel match packing likewise an epic sized talent , albeit potentially underdeveloped in career terms and underappreciated popularity wise is the ultimate BG pop star Miro , someone who has succeeded throughout the years to produce an incredible legacy of auteur hit songs with a distinct quality sound , like few other artists worldwide can with such consistency yet naturality...all by themselves .....:);)
