TRANSLATION: "Ti si mi u krvi" literally means "you are in my blood", but an English person would say something like "you're running through my veins", instead. Edit: added 'instead' in the end for clarity.

Try with Bijelo Dugme, Lipe Cvatu or Đurđevdan, that is more like folk rock or some people call it, literally translated, shepherd rock. 😁 Also, other mainstream rock bands from ex-Yu era are Azra, Idoli, Partibrejkers, Riblja Čorba, Haustor, Leb i Sol (macedonian band with one of best guitarists in the world, Vlatko Stefanovsko), Prljavo Kazalište, Parni Valjak (more on the pop side, but older songa are more rock), Atomsko Sklonište, Yu grupa, Zabranjeno Pušenje,...

Even to me, from the Balkans, it sounds weird when music genre rock, folk, pop and modern crap gets mixed. Would be more pleasant on the ear to keep the list in one music genre then move to the next. You are awesome, fun to watch.

Smak is one of the biggest rock bands in the former Yugoslavia. Guitarist R.M. Točak is an excellent guitarist and musician. There are many more great songs by this band. I would recommend the band Yu grupa ( Od zlata jabuka, Crni leptir, Mornar). Kerber, Galija, Partibrejkers (Hoću da znam, Kreni prema meni), Osvajači (Krv i led, S kim čekaš dan, Možda nebo zna (balad), Orthodox Celts (Irish folk bend, very good).
@ljubaceranic9378 ай бұрын
For Smak (studio version was better btw), listen to Crna Dama. They also did a version in english but personally i find the serbian one better sounding. Fun fact, they were opening for Deep Purple when they had concerts in this region.

Recommendations from my playlist : 1. Toše Proeski - Ako me pogledaš u oči (you've done 2 vids with him in it, but not this classic hit) 2. Jole - Remek djelo (great example of 2010s Croatian party music) 3. Crvena Jabuka - Za sve ove godine (this song always had a Christmas vibe to me) 4. Doris Dragović - Opilo me vino (you haven't reacted to her yet and she's amazing, she also had the best Croatian ESC entry in 1998) 5. Divlje Jagode - Šampioni (a good example of Yugoslavia's hard rock/metal scene) 6. Jacques Houdek - Na krilima ljubavi (a fun 2000s pop song) 7. Zana - Dodirni mi kolena (an iconic 80s Serbian song) 8. Bijelo Dugme - U vrijeme otkazanih letova (probably my favorite song from my favorite band of all time) 9. Oliver Dragojević i Boris Dvornik - Nadalina (a fun folk song about the story of a girl named Nadalina) 10. Meri Cetinić i Tomislav Ivčić - Gorka Rijeka (a melancholy Dalmatian song about nostalgia) 11. Daleka Obala - Četrnaest palmi (a must have for a coastal car ride with the radio blasting) 12. Novi fosili - Boby No 1 (a very famous band in the 70s and 80s that made a lot of hits so it was hard to narow it down to one) 13. Gibonni - Dvije duše (one of the best post war Croatian musicians and one of his finest songs) 14. Merlin - Ne budi me Seno (another one that released way too many hits for me to narrow it down, probably my favorite Bosnian solo act) It was very hard to narrow it down to 14 songs and I could have given like 100+ more recommendations, you really need to react to these songs though. I'm waiting for part 72 !!!

Dear Emma, commenting about Balkan music does not include only Croatia, Bosnia and Serbia. The best production music coming out of Balkans is made in the Republic of Kosovo and Albania. Pls check out the following artists: Bojken Lako, Gjurmet, Lindja, Jericho, Retrovizorja, Por-no, Cute Babulja, Humus, Asgje Sikur Dielli, Era Istrefi (Bombon), Kida, Elvana Gjata and hundreds of other quality artists. Btw, you can start with Rita Ora, Dua Lipa, Bebe Rexha and Ava Max who are also Albanian coming from the very same Balkans that you are commenting in your posts. All the best.

Balkans do not exist, it is a political term, there are only states, which culturally, religiously, linguistically, genetically, drastically differ, such as Turkey, Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Albania, Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Balkans are the same as saying the southern part of the globe, it means nothing.
