Don't Forget (the song) hits different when you know that Demi's mom always thought it was about Patrick (their dad) & not about a relationship. This first album was mostly debut disney fluff, but some of the songs looking back now...are a lot.

I love that you're doing these early albums! Don't Forget and Here We Go Again were my JAMS. I never reallly cared about Demi's other albums, no matter how hard I tried. Demi's first two are just precious to me and I honestly (unpopular opinoin?) think their extremely powerful voice fits better with rock-style songs. Can't wait for Here We Go Again! It's my favorite!

Ok, fun story: I once had to wait for my dad while he was having a dentist's appointment and I waited on some swings that were across the street from where he was. I ended up waiting in those swings for almost two hours and for some reason I had Until You're Mine on repeat on my mp3 player, so when he finally came look for me I got out of the swing and I was SO dizzy and nauseous and since I had that son on repeat the entire time, now any time I hear it I get incredibly nauseous. So, basically I ruined a song I loved and have never been able to listen to it ever again.

I LOVE THIS SO MUCHHHH ok now for some context! Demi wrote and recorded Don't Forget (album) when they were 15 mostly with the Jonas Brothers, which is why it sounds very Disney, debut pop rock. The next album, Here We Go Again, is also pop rock influenced, but Demi didn't work with the Jonas Brothers on this one except for Stop The World, and it's more laid back and experiments with other genres. Demi also got a chance to work with John Mayer on one of the songs, World of Chances. The next album, Unbroken, experiments more with an R&B sound, some of the songs are produced with Timbaland. And yes, you are right, this album has some VERY emotional songs. You know DEMI, but you should definitely watch the music videos, ESPECIALLY Made In The USA, you're gonna love that one. Confident is when Demi really shed the Disney image and became more adult. That album has serious pop bangers. Tell Me You Love Me . . . I think you should find out about that one on your own. It's the fan favorite for a reason.
