Ok y'all, the timing of this video is WILD. I've been praying really hard lately to know God's will in my life, and just on Monday I had almost the EXACT SAME experience in Adoration that Brother Malachy described - me begging Jesus to let me know His will, why can I not figure out Your will, etc., and He said to me very clearly, "It's because you're not listening." Hearing about the struggle that might come next almost makes me want to give up entirely, but I know I just have to lean in and trust the Lord, because He has great things planned. Thank you for this video!!

Praise God for he is amazing! I have been with the Franciscan secular for several years studying in AZ. Close to profession I got out, 3 years later I am trying again. Again my struggle have begun not knowing God's will for me. This video came in the midst of my struggle, and I have to admit that when Jesus says to you, 'you do not know how to listen,' It spoke directly to me!!! I know that I struggle with silence. I grew up in a large family, and all scream just to be heard. I will try to be in silence but I get for your prayers! Peace.

Brother Isaiah has a beautiful song that applies to you right now. It's called "Struggler." It's about God is telling him its value. He heard God tell him, " It's not such a bad thing..." Like all of our struggles have purpose. ❤
@mamaedina15 жыл бұрын
Just please hang in there. Hang hard. I got into habit of literarily screaming Jesus in my head. Rosary too. If you can 20 decades. We can still have sinful thoughts but sacraments help. At least me. Started daily mass so go to point of you can't do that or you won't be able to receive tomorrow. Lean in real real tight. Scream His holy name. Gradually the sin becomes less attractive n another vid talked about eating right n avoiding getting into an unhappy state. Conciously look for good things that give you joy n run to them. Silly things like painting your nails or going to look at flowers. One hail Mary said for you
@Malnourishedmosquito4 жыл бұрын
I used to have the same problem(and sometimes still do) but I found out that one of the things that really affected my thoughts were the things that I put around myself. For example, listening to secular music, or watching movies or tv shows and even videos, that triggered those thoughts in my mind. When I was able to identify these triggers and cut it out of my life, the thoughts stopped coming for the most part, and when it does come there is nothing to fuel it. It still gets hard, but whenever they come I just sing a song about God or think about something different and it goes away. Hope this helps and stay strong because His grace is sufficient for us. 😊👍🏾
@GuadalupePicasso4 жыл бұрын
Also, don’t so much pray for God to remove these bad thoughts; instead, pray for God to teach you how to respond to them in a way that is holy and pleasing to Him. Our life on earth, no matter how holy we may strive to be, is one of struggle, as we wrestle with the “already but not yet” of our salvation. The best advice that I can offer is to keep surrendering those sinful thoughts, mindsets, and attitudes to God, each moment that they come. Don’t relent, don’t stop. When they come, just pray something simple like, “Jesus, I surrender these sinful thoughts to you”, and even, eventually, continue that conversation with Him. God is truly everywhere present and filling all things. Prayer, in its most simple form, is “practicing the presence of God”, to be intentionally cognizant of His presence. You are His beloved child!

Last year was my 2nd year of nursing, and I was falling into abyss. I was questioning whether did I make the wrong decision to join nursing as it was draining me physically and emotionally. So I started to search God and would grab any opportunity to go Adoration. Sometimes I would leave the adoration with tears and sometimes with so much joy. Now as I enter into my final year, deep down in my heart, I know that God is telling me that this is my vocation. Turning 19 this year ;)

But when it came to a point that Jesus spoke to you that you can follow your heart's desire and He will bless it. It just reveals to me the ulitmate goodness, generosity and love of God. He loves us sooo much that He will never impose His will but will let us decide if we are willing to fulfill the purpose He places on our lives. Ohhhh! What Bro. Mark Mary said is true. Thank you Bro. Malachy for your intimate testimony of discernment. Great thoughts for all of us in all walks of life. Unfortunately, God's will isn't always up front as in the Bible. Many times we must work at it. But in the end we know God will guide us in our decisions. The final decision can be painful in some regards, yet joyful in other regards. I always enjoy the the videos on Ascension Presents. Great thoughts, a mini-retreat in a way, from various people.
@fr.malachyjosephnapier63335 жыл бұрын
Bill, Thanks for the feedback, you are right about God speaking in different ways, and that there is a pain in the yes sometimes (think about Jesus in the garden of Gesthsemene - "if this cup can pass, please let it, but not my will Father, but yours be done..."). Just remember though that prayer itself is actually work! It is ridiculously hard in my own experience to remain faithful day in and day out to personal prayer and silence. From my experience as well, the more I have become accustomed to the voice of God in prayer (through mediation on Scripture, Rosary,etc), the more I have been able to see God at work in the activities of my day, the "work" that is visible. I pray that the voice of the Father is heard in the stillness and the events of your daily life. God bless, Br. MJ

I only asked below because I genuinely seek to live out a better spirituality that you both are exemplifying. Thank you! ------EDIT------- Interesting, when in the silence of prayer and you hear a voice, could you possibly do a video of how to discern what that voice is? Whether it’s God, my own internal voice, my subconscious, or something demonic? I tend to doubt any voice that I hear.

I am the same! I don't like to be silent with my thoughts because I have intrusive ones at times (OCD/anxiety) and because I am afraid God will tell me to give up something I really want :( I reckon Jesus would totally tell me I'm not listening! I guess if it's from God it will line up with His character (something I've also had skewed perceptions about!) and Biblical principles, and also with your giftings/interests to some degree? Maybe you can pray that God will make it repeatedly and abundantly clear, that He will keep the enemy at bay as you try to discern, and that He may use trustworthy people to confirm His will?? Praying for you (and myself!) in this!

moveaxebx what is peace? I have no problems sitting in silence for hours at a time. My problem comes with the discernment. Anxiety medicine can bring peace. Alcohol can bring peace. Those, nobody will confuse to be God though. I’m not trying to be argumentative. I just don’t think it can be boiled down to 6 words.
