I think Scissors is a really interesting and underrated song. It’s a bit of a long one but by far one of my favourites that they’ve released. They actually just started playing it on tour for the first time since 2000 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their self titled album

Found your channel from these Slipknot reactions. A few song suggestions: Disasterpiece, Spit it Out, Dead Memories, Nero Forte, Vermillion (and pt 2), Heretic Anthem, Sulfur. I highly recommend some of their live stuff. Their energy onstage is amazing. A few of the most recommended live songs: Spit it Out & People = Shit from Download 2009, Custer from Download 2014, Disasterpiece from London 2002. I can't wait to watch you continue your Slipknot exploration.

my first introduction to slipknot was when i was like 6, my older brother put the left behind music video on the tv and forced me to watch it and it scared me so bad i cried 😅 I revisited slipknot when i was about 12 and loved them and it is now one of my favourite songs but safe to say they gave me nightmares as a small child 😂😂

So the thing about the Iowa album is the lead singer Corey was homeless and a drug addict and one of the band members grandfathers died right before the recording of the album so that’s why it’s there heaviest. They also just got a new drummer and made a album 4 years ago and the lead singer as a kid who has a band and he is the lead singer there debut album Just came out and if you like them then you will definitely like the other band there name is vended

I bet you could get that guitar tone by taking a Marshall amp, adding a tube screamer in front of it and taking a BUNCH of the mids out. Crushing, honestly.

Liked & Subscribed man Be aware, it's a long comment So here's the deal with Slipknot They have been on the stage since 1999, and have released more than one album. Each album is very different from the previous one, in the same way that one era of metal was replaced by another during years. And just because the band members were getting older/less enegretic. I recommend to listen to them in full starting from the first one album to see their evolution: 1. Self-titled - their 1st album, the nastier of them all and very raw & unique. One of the pioneers in the nu metal genre. At that time they were very young and very energetic. 2. IOWA - their 2nd album, the heaviest of them all, because they wanted to prove to everyone how hard they can go. Even more energy, lots of blastbeats and other elements of death metal. The main vocalist Corey Taylor tore his voice off many times during tours in support of the album 3. The Subliminal verses - their 3rd album. Critics criticised a lot their 2nd album and called it just a set of loud noises and not music, so they made their third album much more melodic than the previous one, again to prove it. There are some elements of the early 2000s, the era when pop punk was popular 4. All Hope is Gone - the 4th album, their most depressing and just as melodic as the previous one. Less enegretic... I would say it reflected a bit the emo/goth culture of the time 5. The Gray Chapter is the 4th album, where in my opinion there are no inherent elements of any metal genre, because it stopped being popular. It's very similar to the 4th one IMO Then comes the 6th album and the 7th album, or how many of them there are, but to me after the fourth album Slipknot already ‘deflated’ and the quality and uniqueness of their music has decreased.... at your own risk.

for getting a similar tone you'll need lots of gain. depending on what kind of amp you have, you may need to go out and get a preamp pedal and run it in front of your clean channel if your amp doesn't saturate enough. scoop your mids quite a bit, not all the way, lots of treble, and you'll need to get atleast 11-54 strings if not 12-56 for tuning to drop b. (11-54 will also work for drop c but will be slightly floppy in drop b)
