Found your channel a while back and forgot to click reply. Came back again today, haven't watched the video at the time of typing this, but I recall you always saying "trying to destroy the stigma of mental health" or something along those lines. In this aspect, there's a few songs that I believe you should listen to, that directly talk about dealing with mental health issues and the struggle of trying to cut away everything in your life that brought you to the point of suicide, and trying to turn away from coping with depression via drugs. I've listened to this specific artists songs and as someone who has been struggling with mental health issues outside of the addiction portion, they really hit the feels and I would like your take on them. Rivilin is the artist name if I can remember correctly. Doubt you'll read this but worth trying to reach out anyways. Imma go watch your video now

Im in the hospital right now withdrawing from alcohol because i drank heavily for 8 years ever since my daughter passed away. I finally decided to change and its been hell but im on day 3 and im getting on antidepressants and anxiety meds so i dont have to feel like i need to drink anymore. My daughter wouldnt want me to be this way, drinking myself to death. Im not your devil anymore...

@WafleEnterprises8 ай бұрын
I am extremely glad that you made that choice, and I hope and will put you in my prayers to have the Lord strengthen you to power through the withdrawal process! One recommendation is not to necessarily stay on those anxiety and antidepressant medications, they’re not proven to help much if at all while also risking side effects for a negligible benefit. Your best cure is family and close personal friends who are willing to be by your side and let you just vent, communicate and get it all off your chest. No man (or woman) is an island, we are social and spiritual beings and need those important communal connections more than anything. I’m so, so sorry for your loss.

Yes, the masks typically change for each album and are designed by each member (some are similar to previous versions). In the video, the members in white jumpsuits were wearing their previous masks and representing their past selves. They actually picked what would happen to them in the video (one member had a great fear of birds so requested he be pecked to death. The DJ chose to be eating his own fingers, the most important thing he needs to perform). "Basically, this video is about finding past devils, past things - becoming one with it and then doing away with it.' - Shawn Crahan (percussionist/video director)

btw they made this song (and whole album) Paul Gray, cofounder, passed away so it's all about dealing with grief

I still struggle with my negative aggressive side. I cope with my voice. I have developed a voice like thunder. I've been practicing for 40 years. I'm lucky that people have learned that I'm a teddy bear 🧸 that ROARS 🐻 I have felt forced to use discipline and restraint, because I know. The only arms I carry is my left and my right. I've learned the power of my voice and words. Sometimes the cage gets a little weak. The Beast in me.

One of the things i love about Slipknot, is when you listen to them, you realize you're not alone, and that there's someone who understands how you feel. In spite of the aggressive music, it is also oddly calming and soothing.

I spent most of my time outside of work alone so I was rarely sober except at work. Its strange to always be sober.

It grows on you over time. My only vice is weed, and honestly not more than a few rips in the evening after dinner, but once a year I have a drug test so I go on a three month break to insure that I pass with no problem, and the clarity is quite noticeable and enjoyable. There's a line in "Unsainted" that I'm doing my best to achieve. "I'm finally holding on to letting go." Lost my Mom July '22, still dealing with some of the fallout in different ways. Never really completely broke down over it since I'd been caring for her since 2010 and, sadly, watched it happen slowly over 12 years.

Dont worry, they're harmless, and I can shut them up with my guitar rig and sometimes cookies. Rock On, Beautiful! Sadly, this song is about when bassist Paul Grey od'd and passed away. The band believed he was clean and they felt betrayed. And, learned they are not his devil, and the guilt is not theirs to bear.

Every one of them changes his mask whenever he feels like making a new one.This video is partially about that,you can see the older version of them selfes(with the older masks) killing them selfes while the new versions are coming to life with this new song by playing it with the new masks on, for example you can see the old Corey blowing himself up at 9:25 but when you see him singing at 2:15 he has the new mask.Btw i found your channel maybe a year ago or more but i tottally forgot about that, because i don't have much time to watch youtube,but thankfully youtube suggested me this video at the right time,today it was kinda needed to listen your words

I love this song and I always have. They're saying that they understand themselves and are showing it to the world. The same that they've always have and I think you are very focused on your own state of mind which is trying to help people, and that's great. I think the reason you are so offended by this video is that it completely contradicts your expectations and beliefs. But that doesn't mean it's a bad thing, just another thing to think about. In other words they are sending a message here that you need to be empathetic of the things they are saying instead of being judgmental and thinking they are fucked up. I. e. Just be nice to people as long as they have a message that's worth hearing and try to get something good out of it.

@@MentalAmanda The dumbest thing you’ve ever read really! I take it you haven’t read much then. If CEOs suffer from it. Maybe being a CEO isn’t the right career choice for them. Single mums, all I can say is why are they single? Could it be their poor decision making, or poor judge of character when choosing a partner? Being a single mum or CEO are all life choices. Choose wisely and choose what’s right for you and when you do. Don’t complain about it. It’s not a good look. Do something about it.

How presumptuous that you think they're not doing anything about it. Or that single moms couldn't have possibly been left by a man that found someone else or even raped. Yes, we make choices, but we don't always have all the information when we made that choice to know the outcome. It's also ignoring the biological aspects of depression, but hey, just repress it all so everyone else is more comfortable, right?
