Maybe I'm a warped mind. We love their music. No other band does this. This guy hit on government based theory's. I've read other's talk about their lyrics for release on streaming music sites. I don't think anyone gets it unless I missed it. FEAR INOCULATION. GOVERNMENT CONTROLLED INJECTION INTO OUR CHILDREN. DECEIVER ( government ). UNVEILED. We open our minds to this. Wacked. Perhaps. Here is the kicker. Tool. Aliens. RECAST OUR TAILS. If they are, they can put a tail on me. Take me away. A long time comin.

11:00 "That was an evolution... still sounds like Tool, but a different side to Tool" man I thought that in 2001 when Lateralus came out, said it again in 2006 with 10,000 Days. It's one of the things I love best about them, their sound always changes over the years but there's always this core Tool-ness that keeps the familiarity.

The first time I heard it, I told him: "I think sounds like The Grudge and the Parabol together, but in a more evolved manner, as if the Tool members grew older and their music matured with them". I didn't listen to it again for some days. I came back to it 3 days ago and, after having listened to it around 50 times, I don't know what else to say... It's Tool and they got yet to on another level, a different level from what (I think) we expected, but on a level that they are going to amaze us like noone else. JIm, as always, a brilliant video with very insightful comments. Tool's music is just that, a tool for us listeners. Something to place in our own context and apply ourselves to in order to grow as individuals and open ourselves up to new perspectives. Whatever I'm experiencing from this track, no one else will experience in exactly the same way.

Just leave it at absolute perfection Jim, because that is what best describes this tune. From the hypnotic beginning to that ridiculously hard end. The down and dirty end of Parabola taken to a whole new level in this tune.

Just subscribed Mr Jim. Had a hard time with reaction videos for a while but came across your channel and you are exactly what I want in a reaction-video: Insight in music, few interuptions in the music, a calm approach and most importantly, reactions to good music. Seen about 10 of your videos now and gonna keep going, love em. Thanks Jim!

Jim, I was lucky enough to have discovered TOOL back in 1995. They have been huge part of my life ever since then.(going to concerts, listening, collecting everything TOOL, watching videos, etc...) I was so glad to find your channel and watch you "discover" and appreciate them as I do. I was at work when this single finally dropped. I was so excited, I could barely breathe. My reaction was much like yours. I must admit, I was a little afraid that "Fear Inoculum" couldn't possibly meet my hopes, dreams, and super high expectations of new material after a long 13 year wait. When the song finished, I felt like I had reconnected with an old best friend that I hadn't seen in a very long time. My next thought was to get home ASAP and get the headphones out and dig deeper. After about 10 listens, my next thought was, "I wonder if Jim has reacted to it yet?" Thank you so much for your genuine reactions. Always a pleasure to visit with you and your channel.

Its like a resurrection song. Echos of yesteryear, coming back, slowly, each instrument waking from its slumber. Then Maynard's vocals again echoing, like from the past, into today.

I didn't want to listen to this song, until the whole album comes out, but since you did it, I had to, too; Jim. Basically I was very afraid, can they fill up the expectations after so long a wait. I'd say yes, Tool did it. At least with this song. I don't think there's any band ever been building up the tension as Tool have been over the expectations. This sound really promising and I hope the whole new album will be as good as this song.

Jim - I can't express enough how enjoyable it is being able to be a voyeur while you experience not just this, but all of Tool's music. It's clear that you are truly feeling and internalizing the music the way it was meant to be consumed. It doesn't hurt listening to your cheeky responses as to the nature of the meaning of the song. Everyone will interpret it in their own way, but I think many of us have a good idea in what direction Maynard was aiming here :)

@@cyberdemon1702 invincible and descending were better received than fear inoculum, to be fair it's a grower and i didn't think of it as a mindblower but it's certainly more of a introductory track for the more punchy stuff later

I said from the beginning, that when this album comes out Eat the Elephant will be forgotten. It is the 1st time I didn’t like something Maynard was involved in. Moving from guitar driven to piano driven songs is a mistake for a rock band.

Awesome video! What a great way to start my day. The cello/evo sound is Justin and Adam doing volume swells back and forth, one on the beat and one on the offbeat. This is a killer opening track to start off the album. Like you said, Joe Baressi did an amazing job with the mix.
