"Is there any reason to watch now that Tool has uploaded official versions?" Yes, the majority of people watching reactions were already familiar with the source material. I watch because I like seeing people enjoy the things I enjoy, but even better if they can actually give some thoughts. My favourite music reactions are generally from people with a music background because usually it take some experience to truly appreciate talent.

A few weeks ago, a few of us were out having some wine, and someone was saying how they hated it when their partner gave them the silent treatment after a fight. I just blurted out this exact line. All conversation stopped, and everyone stared at me. The woman who had been talking looked at me strangely and said, “Uh...yeah.” 🤣 I LOVE that line, and it’s embedded in my brain for all time.

Gotta love the look of joy on your face when you recognized the bass line... One of my top favorite bass lines ever, to the point that I've been using it as a ringtone on all my successive mobile phones for at least the last 12 years. One helluva masterpiece of a song, with lyrics to match. To me, like many Maynard songs, it's not specific to any kind of relationship. It speaks more broadly about the failure of communication in the human race. Great video, Jim! One thing though: when you said you'd be using the official video, I was expecting the actual short film made by guitarist Adam Jones, not an audio-only video. I was quite disappointed, considering the original video is yet another masterpiece in itself. You owe it to yourself to watch it, man! Either here on the channel or privately, but I'm dead serious: WATCH IT!

I'm not the biggest fan of Tool , but I definitely like 'Schism' . The only influence I can hear on this track might be 'King Crimson' , maybe the bass drum interplay of 'Lark's Tongues in aspic Pt 2 ' . I found out later that Tool and KC have toured together and I think they were one of their influences . The other aspect I like about Tool is the influence on some of their videos by 'The Brother's Quay' . If anybody has not seen them , might be worth checking out .

There seems to be a big machinery behind the Tool or very well payed bunch of lawyers, because Tool has stirred the KZbin properly. Actually I'm really glad that they've stepped into modern world, which has definitely changed from their last album. The whole music industry has gone digital during the time. I myself have been listened Tool's albums a much more properly now, that I don't need to sit around the stereo. I do listen music more or less non-stop 24/7 with the in-ear speakers and as I tend to do many sorts of things (today I've been spraying lacquer on our Z3's new bumper), I love bluetooth. Cool story. Sometime back in mid 90s Ministry were playing a gig and the lead singer Al Jourgensen used to put acid in his whiskey and drink it during his set. One day at lullapaluza (not sure of that spelling), Al Jourgensen said he came off stage and there were these two guys there and they said to Al "cool gig man" so Al said thanks and gave these two guys the rest of his whiskey. The two guys drank this whiskey and were tripping for days. Turns out it was Maynard and Adam Jones from Tool. Their later music would be more psychedelic in nature. So maybe we all have Al Jourgensen from Ministry to thank for the direction Tool went.
