Kantorow is a virtuoso pianist unlike many heard before. His technique is exceptional but he connects to the pieces he plays with an intimate intensity not heard before. His use of the petal is unique and it feels as if I am listening, especially with this Liszt, from inside the keyboard. A rare and fiery virtuoso!

Apart from my great admiration for this great pianist, I found the continuing dialogue between the piano and the orchestra as a whole and with particular instruments at certain parts of the Concerto, from the sart to the end, most astonishing and captivating. Bravo 🎉

What a bad pianist. He plays the fast passages in a totally unexpressive manner. He thinks Liszt is just a show-off. As Brendel said: "Anybody who thinks that Liszt is just for pure display better stay away from him."

He dresses horribly..when the orchestra is in white tie it is disrespectful to show up looking like that.
