Thank you Antanas. This is helpful. I have seen Aš esu alkanas, and also the question Ar tu alkanas? Why does the question not have the verb to be?
@TalkLikeAntanas3 жыл бұрын
Quite often we can omit the word esu or esi because these words are not necessary, the context is clear and we know what the sentence means. Šiandien aš (esu) namie. Dabar aš (esu) užsiėmęs. Aš (esu) alkanas. The same goes for questions: Ar tu esi užsiėmęs? Ar tu užsiėmęs? Tu užsiėmęs? Užsiėmęs? You can find sentences with or without esu / esi depending on the situation and context. I hope this answers your questions at least partially!

That’s great! I’m learning Lithuanian because my wife is Lithuanian and I want to speak her language and talk with her family more. Ačiū!

@@doctorjtee Labai gerai! Majority of my students have Lithuanian partners and that's their main motivation to learn Lithuanian. Sėkmės!

What is the difference between "Aš domiuosi" and "man domina"? Is the meaning the same or not? Ačiū labai
@TalkLikeAntanas Жыл бұрын
Yes, it means the same but it has different accents. Aš domiuosi - I am interested in (actively), mane domina - it interests me (as if it was coming from outside).
