@@Batman-ro9mj In my experience, quite good. As long as you're keeping it clean through regular maintenance and using a good litter, this box does an excellent job of controlling odors. Some people find that some odors seep out of the waste drawer, and in that case, a little deodorizer pod inserted in the drawer can help.

In fact, it's believed that in the early days of the English language (back in 500-1100 AD), the "aks" or "axe" pronunciation was standard. The first complete English translation of the Bible said: "Axe and it shall be given"...well, it actually said "Axe, and it shalbe geuen you." At any rate, we do know that this pronunciation has been common, if not standard, for a LONG time. And while it's not considered the correct pronunciation, this way of saying the word prevails in certain dialects, including the New Orleans English that influenced my speech patterns growing up. One of the best examples of this dialect quirk is the classic New Orleans tune "They All Ask'd for You", which you can listen to here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l4S9q6aNh92Sf6c Anyway, I know that the pronunciation isn't correct and did try to enunciate the "sk" sound for this video, but clearly, that habit has made it difficult to pronounce the word correctly. My cat tends to lift her butt up and spray the back of the litter box and it trickles down (gross, I know) instead of peeing in the litter which is why we need a high sided box. Would that be a problem w the litter robot?

After months of research and watching reviews, we finally purchased a LR III about 3 months ago. I must say, this gadget from “cat heaven” has revolutionized our lives in more ways than one. Not only do you safe time and aggravation with scooping your cat’s waste multiple times a day, you also save money on litter. In the 3 months my large kitty has been using it, we are going through at least 40% less litter than before. It cuts down the litter box smells to just about zero, and we live in a 350 sq foot tiny house. It’s larger than a traditional litter box, but because I needed a better litter solution for our kitty, the extra real estate it takes up is more than worth it. I also have noticed she seems much happier having a clean litter bed every time she needs to potty. It’s a double win in my house. I highly recommend!

I bought this litter box and I love it so much ! I have 4 cats and use the litter robot upstairs and a manual litter box downstairs and it made my life so much easier when it comes to changing the litter box. I use an 8 gallon trash bag and it fits perfectly. Also I use tidy cats unscented which works well.

I have 3 cats (10, 12 and 15 pounds) and 2 litter robots. All cats use the robot fine and I’ve never had any issues with the units throwing error messages. I’ve used both clay clumping litter and a fine silica brand. Both worked great. For me the litter robot units are the absolute best purchase I’ve ever made for managing my feline family needs. I finally have freedom from daily litter box maintenance. I empty the trays about once a week. The filter I replace about twice a year when I start to notice litter box smells. For what it’s worth, I bought the units when my trio were 4 months old so they grew up using the litter robot and the confined globe has never been an issue/deterrent for them.

I have just bought the litter robot. With 13 rescue cats, and fostering additional cats, cleaning 20 litter boxes a day is exhausting. I have several conventional litter boxes and 4 pet safe automatic litter box (they are great but start to smell after 3 days). Have been using the litter robot for about 2 weeks with cats ranging from 8lbs to 18lbs with no problem. The major selling point for me is that with the litter robot which is in my bedroom has eliminated the litter box smell. I am not a fan of clay litter but I have been using Tidy Cats Fresh and Clean Unscented, we are not having any tracking with using a litter trapping mat underneath. We have been able to reduce the number of litter boxes in are bedroom. They cats still have access to the other litter boxes in their enclosed porch. After trying the litter robot for some time, we will definitely be getting another one in the next couple of months.

Purchased my litter robot last Friday. It came today. I am so excited. I named it the poop box genie lol 😂 anyways I figured the 3 year warranty would be a good investment. I have 3 cats. My boy cat likes to be a little mischievous so I really upgraded the warranty because of him lol 😂 I like that I can turn the buttons off from my phone so he isn’t over there pressing stuff while is sister is doing her business. I plan to remove the other litter box after 2 weeks. Hopefully by then everyone is comfortable.

I bought my first Litter Robot when they first came out. I had 2 cats at the time, One was 17 years old and the other was about 2 years old. They both took to it immediately. I used Amazon to deliver 2 18.5 pound boxes of Fresh Step multi cat clumping litter. That's 37 pounds of cat litter that arrives at my door. I open the outside box & carry one at a time to the area near the Robot. My oldest cat passed away about 2 years later & I eventually adopted a mother daughter pair of cats who took to the Litter Robot right away, I have had no problems with it, I bought another LR but it is still in its box, The 3 cats have no problems using the L.R. Maybe I am just lucky, I vacuum around it about once a week. With 3 cats I have to change the bag approximately once every 3 days,. I really enjoy All About Cats!

I want to get one of these so bad, but the issues you talk about are why I don't. Specifically the smearing. Plus my cat likes to face ass out of the door and then cover his stuff which always has him throwing litter out the door. Auto cat boxes are close but not quite there imo

Not gonna lie this thing looks crazy. Like an MRI machine for cat poop. Ever since you told me about crystalline silica in the litters I’ve been wearing a mask because I have to change and sift so often. Basically same MSDS as asbestos.

I bought the litter robot 2 weeks ago and it’s been such a hassle. Pee clumps sticks to the rubber and must be scraped off manually every single time. So, I filled the litter robot with Arm and Hammer slide 2 days ago. No more sticking and it performs well…but the smell is so bad, I do not plan to repurchase. Any other suggestions on which litter to try?

If I were to invest $400-$500 in a automated litter box, there would be only one in the home and they'd have to like it. It's insane what they charge for this thing. I still have yet to see any review site recommend this investment, outside of this one, and I don't remember it being that strong of an endorsement.

My cat refused to use it at first, even though I followed their instructions by keeping the old litter box near by and letting it get super dirty. I also tired putting some of her litter in it and still she used the old, dirty litter box. So, I actually just threw her old one away and she started using the litter robot no problem. I really like the litter robot, but living in an apartment, it can be hard to deep clean it in a bathroom. I think that’s my only complaint. The deep cleaning would definitely be better in a yard where you can use a hose. I’ve used world’s best and arm & hammer clump n seal litters, but I think I’m going to try Dr elsey’s next because I find the other litters leave tracking on the inside of the globe.

I cannot seem to get my LB3 to not smell 'very bad'. I have been using a light weight litter. Could that be part of my problem. I have had one since 2017. One thing I don't like about it is the sifter holes are way too big. Do you know of a way to make this holes smaller so they can keep the litter cleaner? Maybe someone 3d printed a plastic sifter that would glue over this stock one to make the holes at least half size. If you know please let me know,.

For $500 they should consider size and convenience. I now have 2 growing kittens and bought an extra large litter box from Amazon they both fit in at one time if need be, my previous litter is another very large I've that had came with an air filtration piece on top of the cover witch had to be later removed. So since both litter holders can hold over 20 pounds of cat litter at a time all you'll need is 2 per two cats when choosing an EXTRA LARGE Cat litter box.

A friend of mine has four cats and the litter robot for them all. Of course all cats are different, but she has hers set to rotate 3 minutes after the cat leaves the litter robot, so it's always fresh for the next cat. She says it's definitely an active litter Robot but it's working for her because it's cycling far more often than she would be scooping.

@@bookmouse2719 the robot rotates on its own. The waste drawer collects the waste and the bag will need to be swapped out every couple of days, when you get a "full" indication on the unit or through the app. The pet owner doesn't clean the robot, it rotates after each use.

The safety of being able to look away. The ability for it to turn on in intervals so maybe you can turn it on when you know you are leaving for the day. Durability, cats are destructive even a replacement part is amazing. Quiet, you put it on so you could be able to do something else.

I do have a question. I have noticed a smell after the first 2 weeks of using it. I am emptying it after 3 or 4 days (1 cat is using it), but the smell seems to come through. Any tricks or thoughts?

If you're using a scented litter, it does seem to make the smell of the unit stronger overall, even after swapping out a fresh liner. I have recently switched to unscented litter for the very reason. I would walk by the LR3 and smell the scent of litter, but the globe would be level and clear. It seems the scent stays with the rubber and also embeds into the carbon filter, so even if you swap liners, the smell will most likely remain.

Hi there. Assuming that the globe is clean and you're using a good litter, you might want to try putting a little deodorizer in the waste drawer.

Thanks for commenting. The flashing yellow light usually refers to a problem with the pinch sensors or cat sensor, and it usually happens if you put in too much litter or have the Robot pressed against something. Biodegradable bags are really not biodegradable when disposed in a landfill. The waste in a landfill goes anaerobic which doesn't allow the "biodegradable" liners to actually biodegrade so its essentially greenwashing and not really any better than plastic in a landfill.

We have a large male cat that pees straight back. We have gone thru multiple different styles of boxes. The main issue is that the urine goes thru the crack from between the top and bottom of the litter box. Will this box stop the urine from seeping out? We found a box that he can use that is top entry, but now our 20 lb cat can't fit in the hole to get into the top entry box.

Hi Nino, thank you for commenting! There is no seeping in the Litter-Robot. Your only issue would arise if your cat points his bum towards the opening of the Litter-Robot, in which case urine may go out through the entryway.

My male cat does the same thing and I've never had urine seeping out in over 4 years. The only issue is the urine drips down inside the globe to the litter and the rubber liner collects dust when the urine is wet. It takes some scrubbing to clean that area. I have 4 cats, all 4 use the Litter Robot and I'll buy another one if this ever fails.

Good question. The other automatic litter box that I like most is the PetSafe ScoopFree. It's set up very differently, but as far as automatic litter cleaning goes, it's a competent little unit. If you're willing to try something that's not fully automatic, you might consider the Omega Paw Roll n' Clean, which has a similar sifting mechanism but has to be manually turned. Also, you can think about using a sifting litter box system, which can definitely cut down on the amount of time you spend cleaning the litter box. Hope this helps!

I should have added the add on fence made a big difference with these big cats. Before I had the fence sometimes if the cats backend was facing towards door, urine would escape the globe.

I love my litter robot. However only 1 of my 2 cats use it but its still worth it. The other cat doesn't love being in the globe and has been on a litter box strike since we got it. We have gotten to the point where she will use dog pee pads which isn't ideal. Regardless I never even entertained the idea of sending the robot back. Who knows maybe one day she will stop protesting and actually use it

I hate how the waste is all collected on one side. It's a flaw design and should've been fixed before they sold it to the general population.

Im still not sure about this I defo think it's pricey...!! Anyway I just can't see them being that reliable cus technology isn't great these days .. it's massive I can't see all cats wanting to use it and then you've wasted 500 odd I think for the size of it there would be more room for the cat instead of the cat being squeezed in and I could see there being problems like getting blocked if big clumps get stuck from time to time it's quite high up and older cats or tiny cats could struggle climbing in and out . It also looks like a bloody tumble dryer and I could see my cat then jumping in my tumble dryer !! I actually think these 'self cleaning' litter boxes actually aren't actually that clean because 1) they shift through litter meaning old litter is sitting around for a while and definitely they would be some wee etc left behind and people clean them out Less so there dirtier and also it's storing the stuff in another carpartment imagine going toilet and it storing your shit in a bucket underneath the toilet! 2) even cleaning out there must be bits of shit and that left on the filter and sides . I just think that either way your going to have to clean a litter box and this type box when it is cleaned out Is going to be after a long while mean that the box will be harbouring crap in all the nooks and crannies making it a big dirtier job to fully clean it especially after 20/30 days as it said. I think it's actually unhygienic storing crap and poop getting smudged etc. Plus it doesn't seem like a proper flap so it wouldn't cover ordour that much . Having to buy all the extras like bags filters and spray etc. I think also if your cat had any health issues i.e blood in stools etc you wouldn't get to know quick enough cus you may not see it . I think If It malfunctions either cleaning before cat is fully done or not clearing out properly, it seems to me we should just face it unfortunately part and parcel of being a cat owner is dealing with cleaning out sh*t and smelly boxs even if like me you change it every few days like changing a smelly nappy it's unpleasant but has to be done . Main thing is cleaning regularly and thoroughly and using ordour control sprays etc and using pine scentedpellets or clumping litter which I find help that lil bit extra is your best bet for hygiene especially!! You still have to clean it at some point
