I'm an old Canadian guitar picker (74 and counting), still playing and healthy thank God. But this tune? We learned it way back when it was new, and now, with my latest group, we're learning it again. Just a great band with the ability to rock the house. Always will be a fav of mine!!!

I was in radio longer than this song has been around. I loved it when it was released but I was never able to play it without breaking format, It was ignored by every station in the country, The internet will keep it alive though. Thank you KZbin. I heard it one time, and one time only. Little Feat happened to play Saturday Night Live, and I happened to tune it. I hadn't seen SNL in probably 10 years at that time, and I don't think I watched it since. Bought the CD the next day.

One of the qualities of Little Feat over the years is their endurance as a band. As I write we have lost Little Feat spiritual leader Paul Barrere. Little Feat's spirit to revitalize their music muse has always appealed to me and certainly others with the 80"s resurgence of the band. And in my opinion they can continue the the next chapter should they choose to do so. With established and notable musicians for example Larry Campbell, Amy Helm, David Bromberg , Bonnie Raitt and others ALL could continue the legacy style and musicianship of Little Feat.

For those who may not know this 1988 version of Little Feat, if you pause at 0:32 you'll see lead singer/guitarist Paul Barrere, guitarist/vocalist Craig Fuller, guitar/mandolin/trumpet Fred Tackett and bassist Kenny Gradney. In the next shot are (L-R) keyboardist/vocalist Bill Payne, percussionist/bass vocalist Sam Clayton and drummer/vocalist Richie Hayward. Barrere and Hayward have sadly passed on in recent years.

@@321snoot I always felt like Lowell's abilities went highly underrated. So sad his early departure from this world. He could get the best out of everyone nearly every time they played. The last show I saw was their 50th Anniversary tour in Jax. It started off slow, as Paul Barerre was battling cancer. They had a horn section ... though it wasn't T.O.P. However, once they got going ... it was FEAT! Paul did an awesome job for many years filling in on slide guitar in Lowell's absence. These days ... with George, Hayward and Barerre gone ... I doubt it sounds anything like I remember. God rest their souls. I'm hoping to catch up with them again once I reach the other side.

@@gunndish When I think of Little Feat, I think of Lowell at the helm - not any of the front men/women who replaced him. After he passed I knew it wouldn't have "really" sounded like Little Feat. (Yes, Roll with It is great, but different.) I've seen the newest version on TV. The new members are very good but, to be honest, It doesn't sound much like the Little Feat of old, to the point where I didn't even want to hear anymore. It was like a different band - dare I say it: almost like a "tribute" band - playing Feat's songs. I hope you do catch up with the boys down the line, and I don't mean that in a morbid way. (I did meet Paul a year before he passed away and thanked him for his music. Shook my hand and thanked me back. Just the nicest, friendliest guy.) Be good, my friend.

I was actually at Little Feat's most recent concert- at the State Theater in Portland, Maine just ten days ago. There, Bill Payne announced that Paul Barrere was absent because his doctor advised him to take a load off. And lo and behold, he died just a few days later. Such a shame. It made me want to check this video out again as it was the song that introduced me to the group. Rest in peace, Paul.

Tight band...kind of tune that gets you blood pumping and your feet tapping. Drop the top, crank it up, hit the road....end up SMILIN'.
