Mr Anderson is here, 🕶️ emerging from the funky grooves of the impeccable Little Feat cocoon. Actually Nick over 2 years ago on April 19, 2022 you and Lex greeted me on one of my first ever request with the Agent Smiith 🕶️opening line on a Steely Dan double bonus Gold Teeth Reaction. That video now has 16,675 views and 695 likes 👍. So delighted that you guys reacted to this song hopefully it will be a smash on the channel too. This is the first Little Feat song I ever heard and I heard it at a party playing on a record player and I was like what the hell is that……that’s awesome. Been a dedicated Featster ever since. One of the bands I played in did this song. It was always one of my favorite songs to play a fun bass part. Very lively. Of course, another classic and wonderful reaction. Thank you so much. Looking forward to all the upcoming treats on the channel. Do I take the blue 🔵 pill or the red 🔴pill 💊. At my age I better take them both. Mr. Anderson out.

You guys are so kind to enjoy a comment I recently posted on a three year old post. Thank you. From one lover of music to another (both of you) I will share some of the songs I recall from the late 60s to the mid 70s. In the 80s I lived in Austin TX so I had so much local music and singer songwriter artists emerging that I almost missed the entire 1980s of musical artists nationally. Back in the day there was a much broader selection of music that did not adhere as tightly as today as to only one genera being played so Gospel, country, rock, jazz, folk and pop all interplayed on the airwaves. Added to this was my high school which had an amazing jazz program with visiting artists like Count Basie, Buddy Rich, and Maynard Ferguson. To me, music is something you can feel, however it moves you. As Duke Ellington once said, “It don't mean a thing it it ain’t got that swing.” To me that means swing not as a literal genre but as anything that makes you come alive, putting a swing into your steps. And so, without further ado, here are some of the songs I recall that are worth checking out as representing that era, many of which will also point to a larger body of work by the band or artist. Little Feat and Steely Dan as you already mentioned are both classics and should not be missed. “City Of New Orleans” Arlo Guthrie “Come And Get It” Badfinger “Dance Me To The End Of Love” Lenard Cohen “Doctor My Eyes” Jackson Browne “Family Of Man”, “Shambhala” Three Dog Night “For Your Love” Fleetwood Mac “God Bless The Child”, “Lucretia Macevil”, Blood Sweat and Tears “Golden Country”, “Open Up” REO Speedwagon “Green Grass and High Tides” The Outlaws “I Just Want To Celebrate” Rare Earth “I’ld Love To Change The World” Ten Years After “I’ve Seen all Good People” Yes “Just A Closer Walk With Thee” Anne Murray “Love God (And Everyone Else)” Al Green “Mighty Tight Woman” Bonnie Raitt “Moondance” Van Morrison “Only You Know and I know” Dave Mason “Put Your Hand In the Hand” Ocean “Respect” Aretha Franklin “Rock n Roll Fantasy” Bad Company “Shelter From The Storm” Bob Dylan “Spanish Pipedream”, “Same Stone” John Prine “Take Five” Dave Brubeck “The Story In Your Eyes” Moody Blues “Will The Circle Be Unbroken” Delaney & Bonnie There are of course many more. I just wanted to share a taste, in case you wanted to explore further. Post Script: The version of the Captain of her heart you recently reacted to was very good and, it was written and performed much earlier by Lenard Cohen.

Lowell George was supposed to have been involved in some of the Little Feat live bootlegs, figuring that if people heard them they should represent the band in the best possible light. I had 3 in the 80's the best being Electrif Lycanthrope which was rumoured to be recorded at a friends wedding. Only saw them once, unfortunately on a night when they had a fight backstage before going on, the tension was palpable. A friend who also saw the night after said they were fantastic the second night.

Whenever you do another entire album, i highly recommend Waiting For Columbus. Its live Little Feat. You have already done Spanish Moon from it, but if thats not the best live rock album, its in the top 2 with Allman Brothers Filmore East. Check it, Tower Of Power plays on almost every song too.

My ex was obsessed with Little Feat and I'll never forget his face when he read about Lowell George passing, it was at a bus station and he bought a newspaper and then slumped down on a bench. It was such a shock as he seemed to be doing fine solo. I'd suggest my fav song that showcases his voice so well, Roll um easy. Very pleased the rest of the band are still going strong.

Seeing Little Feat these days, it's hard not to miss vocalist/slide guitarist Lowell George, who died in 1979. He sang many of their biggest hits (like "Spanish Moon"), but guitarist Paul Barrere sang this one. Pianist Bill Payne also sings songs that he wrote. Lowell was the guy who gave Bonnie Raitt slide guitar tips when she used to contribute backup vocals on their albums. Lowell George was also with the early Mothers of Invention, and it was Mothers' drummer Jimmy Carl Black's remark about Lowell's little feet which is the source of the band's name.

Little Feat was put together by Lowell George who came from Frank Zappa's "Mother of Invention" Band. George went to New Orleans and got with a Cajun band. His voice and the Cajun back up is so unique and so damn funky, it is just great.

Consider how much you enjoyed that song then multiply by 10 when hearing them live. I saw the reconstituted Feat in the mid 80’s after Lowell died 3 or 4 times. I’m a tall guy and I loved to look over the crowd at the bobbing heads. Impossible to keep your feet still and a smile off your face.

4th album. So what is that song all about? Paul Barrere on vocals I think. Not Lowell. My guess is that the cover has Washington and Marilyn Monroe in a Lincoln. Little Feat are mainly New Orleans funk like the Nevile Brothers, the Meters and Alan Toussaint.

When delving into Little Feat, there is one album that can't be missed, that is 'Waiting for Columbus', possibly the greatest live rock album of that decade. They collaborated with the horn section from Tower of Power and I think it may have been the last release that featured the legendary lead singer Lowell George before he died. The musicianship of this band was en parre with Steely Dan and Frank Zappa. Jimmy Page actually got kicked out of hotels for playing Little Feat too loud!! Zeppelin were huge fans of Little Feat. They combined jazz, blues, funk and soul with a Cajun, New Orleans inspired influence. Truly one of the greatest American rock bands..

@@benjamindesantis723 these two people are anything but rude. But they get tons of requests and look at how many people subscribe here. They won’t be “ignoring” you. They just can’t get to everyone. And that’s part of the reason they have membership levels on Patreon. It’s not a lot of money and if this is important to you, you can support them and at the same time, get your request. But they won’t be being rude. They just have grown very big and they can’t get to every request just via YT. They might get to some, but at this point, they are probably getting hundreds a day. And they also have day jobs. Don’t take it personally. They are not those kind of people.
