I've had great success. 2 year old seed still strong germination and fast grower. Does bolt in warmer weather but perfect early sown in clumps for leaves and then thinned to one plant to heart

Thanks Ivan for the video. I thought I'd try 3 patio and greenhouse grow beds I got from marshalls. Have had good results with lettuce, herbs, pak choi all in the same bags in a potting shed 6' x 6'. When the cooler crops have finished I'm going to to put 2 tomato plants in , 2 peppers. I think these grow beds are going to be a success.

Another container of lettuce started. You should never be without lettuce. I really should get some more planted but I'm afraid mine would only bolt before our heat sets in for the summer. Yours look so good that I might try it anyway,

Great video again. When you plant out seeds water and cover in cling film…… do you not water again? I tend to cover with a plastic cover and water every now and again. Usually I’m successful but sometimes not. Maybe I’m over watering. I notice plenty of moisture on lid. Maybe that in itself is enough so no need to water. At what point do you take the cling film off? When they first start to keep up or do you let them grow more ?? Thanks.
@ivans-gardening-allotment-uk
@ivans-gardening-allotment-uk 4 ай бұрын
The cling film should retain moisture until the seeds germinate but check now and then and as soon as the plants appear take it off Thank you

Great video, thank you. How long should it take from sowing to transplanting into the garden? (Or raised container in my instance). I sowed into cells with a propagator lid, on a heat mat at 15 deg C. They germinated in 48 hours but despite getting full sun for 8 hours a day on my kitchen windowsill, they are very floppy and frail. Lid and heat mat were removed as soon as the seeds germinated. Temperature in my kitchen is around 12 deg C.

@@ivans-gardening-allotment-uk thanks, do you know how I can prevent the same thing from happening again? I’m not sure where I went wrong as they had a good amount of sun & water. The stems have grown quite long for what should be lettuce. Any tips would be appreciated, thanks!
