An animal definitely shows that it is loved. There was a story about an Alligator named Pacho who was saved by a man in the jungles and that alligator became his friend for 20 years. They’d swim together in the water and even snuggle face to face. It is a really great story.

People already putting their two cents in.. heres mine, 20 years experience. Supervision is key with large snakes. Its not so much the disposition of the animal that is a threat to the owner but the sheer mass and strength. Assuming the father watches over the child as he should in every other scenario, theres no problem. The animal should know the difference between feeding time and handling time, they can be taught that much. Beyond that its simple responsibility of the owner to recognise when the animal is becoming too much to physically handle, and a second set of hands is always required with snakes over 10 feet just to help remove them when they become too much for a single individual to wrestle with. They are not trying to strangle you, they are just very big and very strong animals.

@@CATSFOREVER308 and where is your experience? Clearly you have none as you speak from ignorance. "They're wild animals"... until they are domesticated as with any animal, from generations of captive breeding and can be predictable if you know how to read their body language. You would know this if you've worked with them for many years as I and many others have. Snakes are not the scary monsters you and many others make them out to be.

There used to be an Army Surplus store where we lived and I met a nice young man there who kept Pythons there. He taught me quite a bit about them. I am really more of a Boa person. One day, when I was working at the local Death House, aka Animal Humane Society, a python was turned in. The head honcho hated snakes and wanted to kill it. He and the head kennel worker were discussing ways to "humanely" kill it, including putting it in the freezer! I called the young man and he really wanted to save it. The director stil wanted to kill it. I ended up in his office insisting that he call the young man, who eventually was allowed to adopt it. It was a Reticulated Python and he was so happy to get it. :) Back in the day, my brother kept Boas. He gave one of his to Alice Cooper! One of his ended up in the vents of the apartment. Every once in a while, he would toss a rat in there. Then, one day, the snake came back out. :) Blessings for standing up for these guys!

Give my friend a follow here on youtube. Her channel is 1softkiss she's been doing this for 60 years. I've been doing it for 40. I'm a 5-foot tall woman with several physical disabilities. I'm not confined to a chair or anything like that, I just have a lot of musculoskeletal issues. My largest snake is 14 ft long. These animals definitely demonstrate affection and make fabulous pets. In the right hands of course. This young man definitely has the right hands and I have loved watching his daughter grow up with these beautiful pythons. I quit making videos a long time ago because I don't have patience for the comment section. But my friend who I'm referring to you to makes wonderful videos and you will be able to see firsthand how snakes display affection. They are very much emotional creatures, each having their very own distinct personalities. I hope you enjoy your journey and learning about snakes. I'm always so happy to find someone who is opening their minds to these animals.

They both seem to really enjoy and like her. They are not stressed out. They are looking and crawling over her and she is never left alone with them. That’s the danger. He knows what he is doing. He made sure they were tame and handled every day. She doesn’t feed them. The horror stories come from snakes getting out and going into cribs or taking pets. That’s not going to happen as long as he’s there. He would never put his daughter in danger. My vet had a 200 pound python that grew up with his children. He kept her at the clinic but the kids handed it all the time. By the. Time the kids were grown the snake was humongous. It’s good to see this. Oh. My vet also had a lion named Radar.

That’s cool, she is absolutely in no danger. This guy knows what he’s doing, if you keep them fed they will be content. Some snakes are just mean but if you raise them from a baby and handle them, they usually won’t be mean. They will actually look forward to interacting with you. You can clearly see this, in these snakes.

Also, this girl will grow up with a huge sense of responsability. Admittedly on the surfaces teaching her by taking care of snakes could be really dangerous, but these snakes are grown inside the house since their birth (if I'm seeing it right), so it shouldn't be a problem.

While I appreciate the obvious time and energy spent with these snakes to make them easier to handle, AND that this man closely monitors his daughter's interaction to insure her safety, I agree with the other responders. These are still wild animals. You must ALWAYS be on guard when with them. You don't know if, one day, they could turn on you. So long as you don't become lax, you will keep the chance of catastrophe at a minimum. But, don't EVER think they are truly tame!

Amazing retics but animals of that size can be dangerous. Thats not to say that they will bite and attack or whatever. But if one of them decides to it could result in death. I am a boa breeder and have had burms, anacondas etc. Burms can make great pets. But a animal past 10ft will easily overpower a kid. One at 14ft+ could overpower a man and a little kid. I know plenty of breeders who breed/ keep bigger animals like burms and retics and they won't interact with them unless they have another man with them. Snakes are extremely intelligent and so misunderstood. But animals that reach 10ft plus can be a problem.

Missing from this video (which is why I couldn't "like" it,) is whether these snakes are in their normal environment and not in an environment where they would be invasive and destorying all native wildlife. Yes, it's geat that you treat these snakes well, but large animals like this should never be allowed to be sold in pet shops as "pets" without the "buyers" knowing how large they grow, what they need to eat, what their natural environments demand, and why they don't belong in areas to which they are not native.

@@pizdamatii5001 Some dogs you do need to watch. Depending on the temperament of the dog and the maturity of the child would depend on how much you can trust the child with the dog. This father may be doing it all right, and I pray there is no tragedy. But what if someone watches the video, observes how easy it "looks", leaves out a crucial step or two or 10. This is not a training video. Does this father become some how partially responsible for another tragedy?

a negative reply and so predictable, nothing but respect to this dad who obviously knows his own snakes better than most of the negative commenters

Anyway, snakes aren't born to live indoors. If we want to talk about positive action, let's return them to the wild

Same as with cats and dogs, it takes much more effort for them to play with you. Whether that's a dog placing their mouth on you and letting you grace their teeth or a cat whacking you gently with their paw. Those snakes are so relaxed. You can tell a snake is stressed by how tense its muscles are. Well, the snakes in the video are practically melting.

I hate snakes and could never imagine being close to them but it seems like dad knows what he is doing and I am happy that the girl gets to have that experience

I mean, its great he supervises her and all, but at that snake's size, has he actually gameplanned what he'd do in an emergency? If that thing begins constrict on her, is he prepared to... Do what? Take a knife to its head? A hammer? Even if he saves his daughter, will she not have been traumatized from the emergency plus dad's "fix" to the emergency? Plus, what does feeding look like to a snake that large? It's one thing if it's a chameleon or bearded dragon and it's just eating insects, but this snake is enormous and must have an enormous appetite. Wow.

What do you do if a golden retriever snaps and goes for the throat?

@@DiakosDelvin This snake is much stronger than a retriever. You would have great problems getting a person as small as this child out of it's coils and it happens extremely fast.

Beautiful. My first job ever was in a reptile zoo. The snakes all have their own personality. With some I got along very well, with others I did not. The snakes had their preferences for certain caretakers, as did the caretakers have for certain snakes.
