@watchfordpilot. Hi Steve. It seems the fall is always an amazing time to fly around the countryside. I’d like to go back down south this fall with some of the guys and get some formation pictures flying through the canyon. It would be a great place for you to fly your Colibri. Good to hear from you!

Pretty. Looks like Fall colors on the cottonwoods. Are you still using a carbon boom pole and some standoffs to mount your 360 camera to the wing? Thanks for posting.
@WheelsInTheSky
@WheelsInTheSky Жыл бұрын
@atg. Yeah, that was amazing color that day. No, I’ve always used a piece of electrical conduit. That’s the way I started when I mounted on my Rocket and I just do the same on my other planes. I think carbon fiber would be good for lower speeds and low g’s. But up around 200 and 5 g’s I wanted something that would bend rather than break. I’m probably wrong, but that was my thinking in the beginning. If you’re interested, here’s how I did it: How to Mount Cameras on Airplanes #GoPro #Insta360 kzbin.info/www/bejne/d3yunIOGmNdsipY

Very cool! Do you think an RV can land there? It's a pretty rough looking strip. Maybe without wheel pants??
@WheelsInTheSky
@WheelsInTheSky Жыл бұрын
@aerobatix guy. We both had 850 tires. My buddy has 700’s on his Bird Dog and those will work. I’m not sure I’d go any smaller at Mex. Mtn. I think you could get into Cedar Mountain or Hidden Splendor if you were able to remove your wheel pants. Or cut 2” off the bottom. That’s why I got me a backcountry plane- kept flying by all these cool strips in my Rocket and couldn’t land.

@wayneyd2. I use an Insta 360X2 and an X3. About to replace my X2’s, like GoPro, they only last a couple years. Here a link to how I mounted the camera- How to Mount Cameras on Airplanes #GoPro #Insta360 kzbin.info/www/bejne/d3yunIOGmNdsipY
