Everything Michael Landon touched was golden... Right from playing Little Joe, Bonanza, and Little House, to Highway to Heaven. He was definitely unique and very gifted... Especially in a spiritual sense. 😇

+Besa65 Yes, but god save you if you were the romantic interest of any of the Bonanza men (esp Little Joe). Joke on Happy Days about how his brides never made it to the altar!
@OriginalAnonymous1
@OriginalAnonymous1 8 жыл бұрын
+Wakkosgirl Even Michael himself stated that being his romantic interest the actresses knew it was for only one show and they would die off in the end or move away to who knows where and never return.

I did hear about that. However, I was just referring to his unique style in creating such heartwarming and heart-tugging shows. I have a soft spot for him. His mother was really abusive towards him. a documentary about him once told how she would punish him for urinating in bed by displaying his soiled sheets out the window to embarrass him into stopping. How cruel and heartless, especially for a mother ;((( I think he was yearning for love and he expressed in his shows how he wanted life to be... so sad :(((

+Brett_T7276 7276 Yes, I didn't know that he had cheated with other women but I read that he met his final wife Cindy on the show when she was a stand-in for one of the students- was also a makeup artist, I guess. He broke his wife Lynn's heart, so for therapy- and revenge, too, probably, she started a club with other celeb wives who had been dumped; they called it the First Wive's Club.

joe r newsom When was this made? 20 years after the show? Wouldn't that make her more like 55-60? Remember this show was filmed around 1997-2000.

Peggy Cassidy Actually, the show first started filming in 1971, and ended in 1981 or 2. So if she were about 30 at the time the show started that would make her 72

I I’m old enough to have watched the show when it first aired. My childhood wasn’t all bad, but it was messed up at home, and when I was forced to spend time with my Nana. Then I in third grade the other kids sensed I was an easy target, and _school_became a misery too. Little House and The Waltons were like a balm on my spirit. Luckily I had a wonderful, always loving Grandma, or I might have thought shows with families like those were a lie. I’ve known people whose home lives were so bad it was too painful for them to watch those shows. My Grandma was the one who bought me a boxed set of the books. I still have them, box and all. I’ve had to move a couple of times when I could take very little with me. That boxed set is one of the few things that has come with me wherever I’ve gone. BTW, I met Richard Thomas (Johnboy on the Waltons) once. He is an absolutely lovely human being. So was the late Jerry Orbach, such a real, kind gentleman. I met them when I was working at a boutique hotel in my late teens (back in the Jurassic period 😉). We hear so often of celebs who were made out to be so nice, turn out to be awful. It’s wonderful to meet or hear of actors and other celebrities who remember how to be human.

@@teamcougars I don't know if it's still on, because I don't have cable, but if you can find When Calls the Heart, please check it out. It's produced by Michael Landon Jr. It's just a nice, family show, set in Canada. About a teacher and a Rocky Mounted Police. It's just such a good feeling show.

This onscreen family gave me a sense of family and strength that I longed for from my own. This show made me a better person because Michael Landon always portrayed love at the core of everything and because of that, through the writing and by everyone involved, it affected who I am today. Love and a sense of comfort and security that sometimes we had to turn on a television to see existed. Thank you to all involved. Love and peace.

Some people might find it weird what I'm about to write, but watching this made me a little emotional. I have been a faithful viewer of this show since I was 4. I own every episode on DVD. What's weird is that I see them in a way as my own family. Watching most of the cast together makes me feel as if I am at my own family reunion. Whenever I'm having a bad day, I watch an episode of LHOTP, and by the end of the episode, I'm all cheered up. Love this show. I personally had a crush on MRS. BEADLE, the teacher.

Peggy Cassidy Lol. That's right, I forgot. I remember an episode when Mary had to get glasses and was upset because they were calling her four eyes and she thought they made her look ugly . That's usually how it works. The heavies on screen are the nicest in real life. Lotte Lenya played the horrible Rosa Klebb in the Bond film From Russia With Love, but in real life she was just a wonderful person. Similarly with Maggie Hamilton, the wicked witch/Miss Gulch in The Wizard Of Oz.😢

As a child this was one of my favorite shows. I still watch the reruns when I have time. I also watch many of the shows from the 1960's & 70's. Now that the world has become such a violent, cruel & depressing place; the old shows bring back great memories of such better times that are long gone. Never to happen again. These shows are such a (temporary) escape from today's reality.

Isn't that the truth. I sometimes wonder if a show like LHOTP were to be on today's television programming, would it be mocked, laughed at/rejected because of it's "corny" family values, and reliance on God, or overwhelming embraced, because this nation is so lacking in such things.

For me, "Little House in the Prairie" reminds me of a time when families were happy, stable, safe and men faithful, caring and loving husbands and fathers as they should all be, seldom were and are even less and less that way in the world we live .... hence, the big mess in which we live .... and no wonder more and more women no longer want to have anything to do with their unreliable male counterparts...

Michael Landon's, carrie , tough my life. in all of his shows, really tough my heart. I remember after his death I was going through a very difficult time, had a dream, and in this dream he was sitting on a beach, and he looked at me and said GOD is with you and everything is going to be ok. he played an angle in one of his shows. he always played a good man in every show he did. his love for God was always front and center. you don't see this in actors anymore.

As a father of two daughters now, the series teach me many lessons about life struggle and responsibility of being a father for his lovely family. I can't bear these awful interviewers , they constantly over talk the guests which is both rude and boring for the viewer trying to hear their responses . Added to which they talk too fast in strident high pitched voices on the edge of hysteria , over excitement and wanting to be as noticed as their guests . I've also noticed this style of interviewing has crept into Brit TV and I wish it would be stamped out .

I love this show! I'm black & no there wasn't a lot of blacks on the show but so what! I appreciate the ones that made it on the show & just like real life regardless of how many people accept us (minorities) there will always be people that just don't. It's their right & as we all know most racists are some of the scariest bad A's lol. The KKK mostly struck at night, with Halloween costumes on, all possed up. Today they're so bad that they hide behind a computer where they can say things they wouldn't dare say to our faces. Good Times didn't have a lot of white people on the show & some of the things they said about white people was never said on Little House. I love both shows for what they bring so let's stop making everything be about race.

What a lovely comment. Things were as they were - right or wrong. I think it is a tragic mistake in the way that people are demanding changes that cover up history because it wasn't politically correct at the time. How will a civilization every continue forward and change if the very things needing change are covered up and hidden? I think race relations were on such a forward, positive track until a few years ago. If just feels that in our current atmosphere, there are people and groups and politicians that are determined to foster an air of hostility between all races. This country could have continued on such a positive trend were it not for the politicians!! Sorry to get off track. I just meant to say that your comment gives me hope that not everyone feels hatred and hostility and refuses to recognize that there were things that were wonderful, even if they did not perfectly represent everyone. You would make such an inspirational role model - intelligent, kind and with common sense!! Best wishes -

Meme Richardson, one teresting part to the REAL story from the books off which the show was based (I think it was "Little House on the Prairie," though I could easily be confusing it with another book in the series, the entire family, starting with Laura, came down with malaria. This was long before they lived in Walnut Grove, and they had no close neighbors. No one knew they were sick. They were too ill for anyone in the family even to get up and get water. They almost certainly would have died were it not for a black man hiking through the area who noticed the animals not having been cared for recently, and thought something must be wrong. He looked inside the house and found them all lying there. He had some medical training and nursed them back to health.
