I hated the song when it came out. The critics tore it apart. Can't imagine someone would actually do a cover of it 50 years later.

I loved this song from the moment it came out. I couldn’t believe how narrow and prejudiced the critics were. Basically, if a song or artist didn’t fit their political agenda they were trashed. I remember having put on Ram for the first time, in trepidation, having read the British music papers, and being stupefied. This song was written at the time of Ram but was held back 2 albums. The press was even worse for Wildlife. It was so bad that I avoided the album. When I finally got it, it was like finding an old friend.
