The lady that rescued him from the shelter, the lady who fostered him and fell in love with him and the sweet man who was just perfect for this wee dog. A family might have been too much for Bruno. Also I noticed that he was happier with his new dad then the foster mom although she loved him and was kind, he wanted someone else. He seemed to respond more to the first shelter lady too. Perhaps she is an animal whisperer. Nothing wrong with that either. That's why they say the animal picks you.

I've seen this before in dogs with separation anxiety, not from people, but with dogs who are only attached to one person. I don't know if that was the case with him but that's where i've seen that kind of shaking before. He just needed to know other people would love him.

Just an FYI for really scared dogs. An old fashioned clock or watch that makes an audible tick tock really helps to soothe them. 🌼🐕 It mimics Mama's heartbeat. Seems to work for older boy and girl dogs too! Thank you to all the guardian angels of our furry friends!🏆

Yeah. People should try to seek out a second home for the pet should anything unexpected happen to them. We rescued two cats and we aren't young now and I sort of regret it (plus a stray) as both of us have major health problems now. We love them but they will be devastated if they had to go elsewhere.

Sweet Bruno reminds me of when I was a little kid and my sister and I saw this broken Terrier mix at our Vet's office. Her name was Terri and she was just shaking exactly like Bruno, completely terrified after years of horrific abuse. They said if noone would adopt her then they would have to put her down. My sister and I cried and begged our parents to please let us bring her home, and finally they did. Terri was the best, sweetest, most loyal family pet, and we loved her for another 11 years after that until she reached a ripe old age. ❤️

One pet I adopted from a shelter was also terrified. They had spotty history on her, but it seemed like her original owner was elderly and died at home. Then when the woman died, her kids arrived at the house and just put her pet outside. Animal control found her cowering under a house, scared out of her mind. I had a feeling she had never really been outside before. I wonder if something like this happened to Bruno where his original owner died & he was ejected from his happy life. ❤❤❤❤❤

We have a senior chihuahua who was abused, came to us covered in fleas, starved out so her spine vertebra were all individually visible, was used at a puppy mill but has the subluxing patella and never should have been bred, immediately almost died with the pyometra. She's terrified of certain things that make us know she was hit on the regular, and she has a neck injury that could only have happened by being hit with great force, the regional hospital vet said it would have had to be a serious kick. So, my point being, she's younger than she looks, and so is Bruno. Hey, and same with humans for that matter.
