My husband passed away in 2019. Boy did it give this song new meaning. We were supposed to retire to Myrtle Beach when we got a little older. Sadly that will never happen. But I have some beautiful memories.

❤ I love this song! It was pretty popular when my husband and I had been dating for a couple of years. He was NOT a fan of country. Lol. We had broken up for a short time and I bought these tickets to go to Hampton Beach in New Hampshire for a long weekend with my best friend to see Mark there. My husband, a Mark as well, and I ended up getting back together and I talked him into going with me instead. 😂 It was a testament to his love for me that he agreed! He was actually pleasantly surprised and it's a memory I'll never forget. We slow-danced to to this at the show. We were together for 24 years. I lost him in 2019, but at least I have some great memories like this one.

This popped up on a local country station yesterday while I was running errands and I was immediately transported back to 1993 when I was working at a country station in Tulsa OK. I remembered how I loved these guys and this band as I was in rock n roll and they were one of the closest things that the genre had to offer, but those harmonies, just wow! I wish they were still performing today, I'd buy front row tickets today!!!

My heart breaks for you. 1981 my love entered boot camp ..his first leave I had to postpone seeing him ..I just started college and had a final the next day. So I asked to wait till his next leave. He said ok. Never saw him again. No cell phones back then. I kept waiting throughout my 20s and 30s...time slipped away...found him thru FB in our late 50s...he said he thought I was brushing him off and no longer interested. Said he wished he had known. ???..life can be cruel..he moved on...I could not.
