I've been learning this for a while now, and I've come to understand one thing: there's a big difference between learning the notes and chords of a song, and actually playing them with the correct feel/phrasing. I might be playing Little Wing, but this guy is *playing* Little Wing.

This is by leaps and bounds the most accurate rendition of little wing on the internet. I have no doubt pilky could have improvised more, let loose more, maybe played with more feeling if he wanted to. But this was not a guitarist doing his version of little wing - this was a guitarist studying and performing little wing like Horowitz studied and performed Rachmaninoff. Every nuance of Jimi’s playing is recreated down to muted notes, grace notes, extra strings strummed, direction of picking… there is so much attention to the smallest of details. Kudos to pilky - the millions of views are well deserved.

My brother is a guitar shredder and he introduced me to this guy's music and SRVs.. Got hooked to his music. its been 7 years now. Jimi's music is still stellar! Always has been. A legend indeed.

i play jimi hendrix albums on the drive to work almost every morning. driving along hilly roads, watching the sun break out, and hendrix just making his axe SING. Life is too good to me sometimes.

This is the closest to the original Hendrix track on Axis Bold As Love I have seen and heard. I know Jimi Hendrix played it a bit differently each gig - thinking about any of the live versions, especially Hendrix In The West - but the album track is the gold standard. If you can play it like this, you’ve put many, many hours into it. Every lick is a treasure and he never meant it to be a long, epic piece. Just a beautiful 2 1/2 minute piece of artistry. Bravo, pilky27!

The nuancing of the apregiation (is that a word!?) is so satisfying. The way Hendrix was so loose and relaxed in the delivery. Just accenting and embellishing where his wonderful hands heart and ear felt fit . And then YOU saunter in an nail with your left hand and a right way up guitar . LOVE it
