I enjoyed visiting yarn shops in County Clare and Aran Islands. So friendly and helpful felt like it’s a Sisterhood with fellow knitters wherever I went. That was in 2014 hated to leave Ireland. My family of origin is from County Clare. It would be a dream come true if I could go back to Ireland but at 79 not financially able to do that. It was the trip of my life such happy friendly people

I love the red or orange vest you have made. My colour lol...hope your friend loves it too. I am working on a Christmas sock for me. Just finished socks for my son’s father in law, who loves hand knit socks. He is turning 70 in a week, so they are for that milestone. His mother in law, who lived into her 98th yr, used to make him socks. So he is knitworthy!

Hey girl, you passed my house to get to kilcar, I live in the fishing village before kilcar, it's called Killybegs, I'm delighted that you enjoyed your trip to Ireland, i was working with Donegal wool at work today, I work with the elderly, and they cannot knit with acrylics, or any other fibre content, only wool, that's what they grew up with, homespun wool. I'm working on an acrylic jumper at the moment, it's for one of my kids, and they insist I don't use wool for their jumpers, they'd only ruin them in the wash, or not wash them at all.😂🇨🇮☘️

As to what I am knitting: I am swatching for a pullover for my 3-year-old granddaughter, who requested a pink pullover. I’m using some of my own handspun-a Romney fleece I bought at New Hampshire Sheep & Wool a few years back. It’s a natural beigey-white, which I’ll overdye once the project is complete. Hope to have it done for Christmas. Thanks for your podcast, Selma! Loved the Irish footage at the beginning of this episode!

I do not think your sweater is too boring. It lends itself to be a great backdrop for a splash of color at the neck. When the bands are finished and blocked and it has some interesting buttons, it should be great as long as the fit is right. Can’t wait to see it finished.
