As a fellow KTM 1290 SAS rider, I can confirm that riding recklessly is all part of the KTM experience. A great trip with great footage, Tim 👍

Just the most hilarious presentation style😂🤣 Thanks. Off myself from Isle of Man to Turkey and back at start of May having passed my test a year ago and never left the island on a bike. No real planning and i’ll just see what happens. As you say all about the memories. Cheers and more please.

Just joined the KTM family (1290 Super duke GT ) With the Nigel the Pelican sticker that you kindly reminded me of from "Finding NEMO. Have done a lot of the roads you did and yes they are fun. Love the light hearted delivery of your Vlogs and a nice touch at the end to sum up the costs. I use My-Route navigation app on my phone works like a dream. 2023 holds a long trip for us through France, Belgium, Luxemburg, Liechtenstein, Austria (Grossglockner) , onto the Dolomites down to Lake Como and back up through Switzerland and return home.

Totally agree when you said, have the right gear. I found myself splurging 3k on new winter and summer gear. Picked up the new Rukka Voyage-R Jacket and trousers for winter. As well as the Rukka Forsair Summer Jacket with the Alpinestars Tech 5 Air to go underneath. Don't cheap on gear guys.

Loved the series Tim! I'm in the market for a SAS and I think your videos have pushed me over the edge (towards the nearest KTM dealer). I haven't ridden in Europe since 2019 - went all the way to Italy and did 6 nights in the Dolomites with friends - that was my first trip. Can't wait to go again. Keep up the good work! We had Leafy’s distant cousin attach himself to the drain rail where the window disappears into the door, at the start of a recent trip away for a long weekend. He was still there on the way back, until about 20 miles from home where we stopped for lunch and lowering the window as a gust of wind blew up sent him into my lap. It was meant to be. So he’s now in the storage bin under the armrest…

Tim - Arse comfort,..for big miles I use a good pair of padded cycling shorts, right next to your skin ( no undies ) you can’t beat em, they’re designed to sweat in and the extra cushioning on your sit bones is always welcome 👍

Tim, you might try some Moto Skiveez (Motolegends just up the road from you, sell them). The only downside I think (apart from price), is the lack of a fly.... (but then then Knox base layers I wear dont have one of those either...) HTH!

Hey Tim, great video serious. I'm local to your neck of the woods, and would love to organise a similar trip. Roughly how many miles did you cover? I'd like to judge if I'd have the stamina to do that much riding in four days. Thanks!
@Dan-562 жыл бұрын
Your explanation of the reason for the change in the shape of your ear canal was priceless 😆👍! I see someone already addressed your raw bum, and if your “waterproofs” weren’t breathable, like your Gortex jacket 😉, you can end up with a massive case of “diaper rash” from your own sweaty cheeks😱! (Just be glad it didn’t “migrate” up to “little Willie and the twins” 😳! Don’t ask me how I know 🙁.)

My wife’s a nurse and she says what you had is a moisture lesion due to being sat down for too long and the moisture couldn’t escape. Edit: I really enjoyed your little mini Tour 👍 I’ve also got a 21 SAS and I’ve just replaced my ContiTrail rear because it squared right off. I agree, the weight & the torque of the bike destroys them.

If you've not used/had comms on a bike, you don't know what you're missing! The more people in a group, the more useful it becomes!! It's not a worry, and with a 10-13 hour runtime, it's rarely something you have to think about, charging is done overnight only... I've been using comms over 20 years, and wouldn't do without now, it massively enhances the group riding IMO! (though hearing everyone else chatting in your ear all day is not for everyone, it's true) Even riding by myself, the ability to make/take calls and stay in touch with home is also something I now wouldn't want to do without! (and of course, music for the motorways... ;) )
