My wife really wants to see the Great Wall. I feel like having a personal guide is ideal. I think we’d struggle with communicating if we were on our own. Looking forward to the next episode
@travelforphoebeАй бұрын
It is truly an experience, definitely worth a guide! 🫶🏻
@OldbrowАй бұрын
As a Beijing native, I would like to say that as long as you have a translation software and do some homework, you will not need a guide. Most of the scenic spots are within the Fifth Ring Road of Beijing and are reached by subway, except for the Great Wall, which is at least five or six places in the suburbs of Beijing that can be visited by tourists, and the average is about 60-70 kilometers. The one I personally recommend to foreign visitors is the Simatai section of the Great Wall in the "Gubei Water Town", but it is also the only Great Wall site that recommends a night's stay. It is a two-hour drive from central Beijing to this suburb. There is an enclosed and fully equipped theme park in the ancient town, which covers an area of 9 square kilometers to climb the Great Wall or do cable cars. There is also the appearance and ancient architecture of China's water town, which can accommodate Chinese style houses and five-star hotels. The price is about $40-300 USD. This ancient city is built at the foot of the Great Wall and is full of pedestrian streets and shops, restaurants and small workshops decorated in ancient times. In spring, you can see flowers on the mountain, green in summer, yellow maple trees in autumn, and snow on the mountain in winter, which is very beautiful. Personally, I like the appearance of autumn there. If you live there, the ticket price seems to be about $30usd if you don't live there, it seems to be $10 more . There are trains, buses and so on can get there is very convenient, if the didi taxi will cost almost $60usd. If you don't want to stay at the Great Wall, I would recommend visiting the Mutianyu section, which is close to the city center and offers a great view of the Beijing countryside. I hope it helps.😊

@@travelforphoebe my pleasure 😊😊. Curious how many places you visited and any other places you want to visit in China 😊😊.
You rave about your tour guides, but you are the best one! Your enthusiasm really brings out the essence of what you're experiencing, whether it's the grandeur of the Forbidden City or the tastiness of dumplings and noodles. And you somehow find the best shots: I was hoping for a view out of a Great Wall watchtower overlooking the Wall winding around a mountain in the distance, and you gave us one. But I am most impressed by your interactions with the people, appreciating how happy they are to meet visitors and share their culture. After all, the people are what ultimately make a place what it is, not the things you see. Thanks again and I can't wait to see what more you have in store for us!

@@travelforphoebe For pescatarian like you, cantonese cuisine is definitely the way to go. Place like guangzhou, shenzhen and hong kong.

Your video is good, fast-paced, and there is no shortage of accompanying information,Next time,Maybe you can add a little bit of interesting footage.I hope to take more photos of the Forbidden City, such as feeling the road traveled by ancient officials when they went to the main hall to meet the emperor.

You look like Blake Lively, with a really classy vibe. Also kinda shocked the sky in Beijing is so blue XD When I left in 2020 the sky was always gray, things sure are changing.
