I watched this three times in a row. The cinematography and styling is quirky and chic. I love Simz's updo it is gorgeous. I love the music, Obongjya has a beautiful voice and Simz's flow makes the world go round. This music does not ask for permission to groove you..the music just grabs you and make you groove. This is a masterpiece visually and musically. Definitely a nod to Fela and Nigerian rich culture. So many rich colours loved the styling everything was intentional. The messaging had so many levels to it. The expectations of our parents, the corrupt with politicians and police. The symbolic nature of the cutlass and the unapologetic Black Love is beautiful if we move has a unit message. Black people and expression is not a monolith.
