Aladdin is a lovable street urchin who meets Princess Jasmine, the beautiful daughter of the sultan of Agrabah. While visiting her exotic palace, Aladdin stumbles upon a magic oil lamp that unleashes a powerful, wisecracking, larger-than-life genie. I agree. Personally, I didn't see the original until High School, and it was so hyped up for me that I left it extremely underwhelmed. This version delivered everything that I had expected from the original and more, I absolutely love it.

@@ruarikelsey1793 Speechless is an amazing song because it shows women empowerment and it fits so perfect with Jasmine, in the og Jasmine was already an empowerful women "I am not a prize to be won" in this they just made Jasmine more than a princess who was being forced to marry, they made her wanting to be the sultan and rule her people because they show how much she cares about her kingdom and the people and she is ready to fight for them and ready to stand up for her rights, and its reality, in those times even more in arabia, women are silenced and do not have a voice to speak up for themselves, so the song was perfect though of course this movie was forbidden in arabia because of the song( guess they didn't wanted young girls and women being empowerful and standing up for themselves)

I enjoyed this version. I like that Will Smith didn’t try to copy Robin Williams genie. He was real respectful to Robins Genie. If you watch the scene where they’re talking about wishes and Aladdin starts talking about Jasmine the carpet is building Cinderellas castle from the Disney movie openings and even throws sand over it like the Disney movie opening. I think the Genie does a lot for Aladdin without making a wish cause it was nice to have a master that didn’t treat him like a slave.

This remake was actually enjoyable for me. Will Smith did his own great take on Genie (no one can ever be as good as Robin Williams), Aladdin and Jasmine were well cast, the spirit of the story was still there and Jasmine's new song Speechless was excellent. I guess Alan Tudyk did a fine Iago voiceover but let's be honest, Gilbert Gottfried was way funnier. My misgivings were the casting and characterization of Jafar, just what even is that? The original Jafar played by Jonathan Freeman is still superior and deliciously evil despite being a voice performance. Also Guy Ritchie's rather stumbling and unbalanced direction, he's done other good films but this one I'm not so sure. Another better Disney remake is the Cinderella one from 2015.

It’s funny how at the time, Aladdin was the remake I was the least excited for, but turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Meanwhile, The Lion King was the one I was the most excited for, but turned out to be a colossal disappointment

Fun Fact: No one has mentioned this but the director of this movie,Guy Ritchie is one of the best filmmakers of all time, he has make a lot of films such as:The Man From U.N.C.L.E(based on the tv series),King Arthur,Rocknrolla and many more. I would suggest 2 of his films:Lock,Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and finally Snatch(this one has a huge cast) if you want to have some good laughs.

I really like this reimagined Disney film! It is perhaps one of my favorites in the library. Will Smith’s version of the Genie is great imo and “Speechless” is my favorite song of the film. Naturally, the animated film is better imo(because I love animated content), but this version is a lot of fun. Thanks for the reaction, Tim!

My mother loved the animated versin of this (we had it on VHS, DVD, etc) and watched it a bunch. When this came out we watched it and loved it. She passed away recently so watching this with you brought tears but, you know, life is hard. 🐾🐾🍻🍻 Thank you so much or sharing.

Thats a DAMN LIE and you know it! Lol. My main issues with the film were the autotune sounding songs, scenes like the "Prince Ali"song were very weakly choreographed compared to the original(I mean, I know animation has more to it, but this version of "Prince Ali"seemed to be just them looking at the camera the whole time.) Princess Jasmine's whole "queen in her own right"thing was okay, but I hated that Jafar's "Prince Ali"reprise was removed, one of the best villain songs. "Speechless"was just award bait, not really good. These are my opinions, but it was a poor remake.

While it's not the 1992 master piece (and my personal favorite movie of all time), it's necessarily that bad either. I was surprised to find this as one of the more better Disney Live Action remakes, BUT that's not really saying much as most of them are pointless, lifeless, and create new problems from the originals. My likes of the movie? I think some of the actors did a decent job in their performances, the scenery of Agrabah is more believable and visually pleasing by being more than just a desert kingdom surrounded by the mountain and desert. And some of the action scenes are pretty cool like Aladdin surviving the winter mountain and the Iago bird chase for the magic lamp.

You should watch Team StarKids' musical parody called Twisted. It is essentially Aladdin told from Jafar's perspective. It is really well done and you may not think about the story of Aladdin exactly the same way again. If you do watch it, though, be warned that there is strong, explicit language and "adult" situations. What they do with the song "A Whole New World" is so bad (meaning naughty) that it's good in a way. I hope you consider it because the reimagined story is good, the acting is good, and the music/songs are really good.

Mena Massoud was awesome playing Aladdin and Lily James too was awesome playing Cinderella. Mia Wasikowska Is look alike Dakota Blues Richard, Tilda Swinton and Alba Rohrwarcher when i saw her playing Alice Kingsley. I Hope that Mena Massoud will be awesome playing Ezra Bridger in the Mandalorian and Imagine that How he would have been in the original Trilogy of star wars but with different actor. Star Wars Is actually similar to Maleficent, i means Anakin Skywalker Is Maleficent, Ezra Bridger Is princess Aurora, Boba Fett Is Diablo the raven, Sabine Wren Is Prince Philips, and Kanan Jarrus, Hera Syndulla and Garazeb Orrellios are the three fairies. I would like to see a photo of Hayden Christensen, the actor that he play Anakin Skywalker, and Mena Massoud at the Premiere of the Mandalorian. I would like to see Hayden Christensen bald playing Darth Vader unmasked because he Is so hot and handsome.

Fun Fact: at 26:30, Mena Massoud (Aladdin) originally messed up this line and said something along the lines of “My sultan, heem nom whom heem seem heem is”. The cameras were still rolling and everyone thought it was funny so they kept repeating it instead of saying their lines, including Genie and Jafar. Everyone thought it was so funny that Will Smith actually had t-shirts made that said “heem nom whom heem seem heem is”

@@TimotheeReacts In my and many others' opinion, the new Lion King movie went a bit too far with wanting to be realistic and look like a nature documentary, so the animals have very little expressions. The Jungle Book live-action movie works much better with the animals looking more realistic but also having clear expressions.

Great reaction! 😊 And another great collab with Duaffy. I'm probably one of few that actually enjoyed this live action version of this movie. Loved Will Smith as the Genie! However, no one will be able to top Robin Williams. 🧞‍♂️ I love the little differences in this one that weren't in the animated movie. The extra song that Princess Jasmine sings. And the addition of Dalia, Princess Jasmine's handmaiden whom Genie ends up falling in love with and marrying. And I liked that it was Genie telling his kids the story of Aladdin in the beginning. I highly recommend both the 1994 animated "The Lion King" and the 2019 live action version if you haven't seen them yet. Looking forward to your next reaction. 😊

I actually liked all of the Smith’s Genie songs versions more than William’s. Although the contrast remains that Smith plays a comedy-fairy character and Kenzari is a Shakespearean villain (albeit not intimidating).

This movie woulda been better if Disney casted Jim Carrey to portray Genie because Jim coulda impersonate all Robin Williams' performance of Genie from the 1992 film. Will Smith doesn't act nothing similar to Robin's version of the Genie

I hate that half this movie is Indian culture, Arabs do like some colors in their clothes but they don't wear stuff like that, and the horrible Bollywood dance... Seriously that's not how Arabs dance that's literally Indian Bollywood movies, the actress herself is Indian. Anyway this movie annoyed me Arab women clothes are so beautiful but they weren't represented here.

The dance they did was their best attempt to try and replicate what Bollywood has done for years, and perfected at. Pick out any Bollywood dance sequence that has a huge number of dancers, you'd see a far better dance performance than what they've shown in this movie. I do agree with you, this movie is highly influenced by the Indian culture, not Arab. The costumes weren't great either, Indian film industries have nailed costume design. The Colors, the cuts, they're not meaningless, they always have a purpose and it suits well.

Hi Tim 👋 I'm Kennie , first it's cool that you got to react with Duaffy and with others duaffy is one of my favorites including you and other people you react with but anyway I just finished watching your guy's reaction to Aladdin 2019 with Will Smith I must say I love your guys reactions fullness this movie I'm glad you guys actually enjoyed the movie like it was better than a retro but I like both of them because I'm Aladdin fan I grew up watching it with the Lion King as well I hope you too or you Tim will watch The Lion King in real life like this live action Aladdin movie and let's All of Us Aladdin fans pray that there be a second movie in future someday but yeah I like how Will Smith singed friend like me as the genie also did ask you guys question about Jasmine having her song in the original she actually did not have a song in the original besides a whole new world with Aladdin but this is brand-new at least a princess can have a song she could sing for yourself but did you know that Jafar had his own song from the original but it was deleted cutscene or removed in the movie I know it because I signed jafar's song at my Aladdin play cuz I was Jafar for my school play in my school and my girlfriend was Princess Jasmine it was a good play good dress up too you both should see me act as Jafar it was really so cool.
