Alec Baldwin's manslaughter trial begins at a New Mexico courthouse on Wednesday. Baldwin, claims he accidentally fired a gun on the 'Rust' shooting set in October 2021 that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. I've been thinking about this the past couple days my dad was a gun guy my friends are gun guys I used to have a gun. I was taught this you never point a gun at anybody whether its blanks or not to shoot!. Pointing the gun and pulling a trigger at somebody it's called manslaughter. All valid questions. How about NOT having a real gun on set at all. It was his responsibility to make sure everything was being done correctly. In an effort to save money and by not owning up to his responsibility, one young person just starting her life is dead and another was shot. the props person is responsible for making SURE that NO live rounds ever get into the gun. it was toi MY understanding , that ALL guns used on a set were supposed to be BLANK ONLY, so that ONLY blanks could be loaded. maybe we should go back to the 80's.. try again.. what changed and when and why ?

It was not a prop gun. It’s a real gun that was supposed loaded with blanks. It was also his responsibility to verify only blanks were loaded. I do think a prop gun should always be used. The use of a real gun is used as it has a more realistic look when fired. I’m sure a prop gun can be manufactured the won’t allow a real round be load.
