What amazes me the most is the broad spectrum of musicians from differnt musical genres that will show up, and actually pull it off. Says a lot for the respect fellow artists have for Daryl Hall.

Joe Cotter The number he wrote and the number that were recorded could be two different things. That’s probably the explanation. Songwriters are usually like that. You have to write a huge number of songs to get a few hits.

What is great about Daryl's House is it shows musicians of different styles, real ones, love playing together. Doesn't matter. You can learn from each other. They like to jam and play and see what can happen. You'll also notice the blonde man in the hat playing. Late great T-Bone Wolk. In some of the later episodes you have watched you see his picture hanging. Wolk died in 2010.

Smokeys voice still will give you chills. This man has been rocking our world since early Motown. I was probably about 9 or so first time I heard his voice in early 60s. Daryl is such an incredible artist. Very smooth

Any song the begins with “baby hair” has got to be good. I’ve heard this several times. But I will say Darrell puts it on Smokey’s song “Oooh baby!” And that’s a fact. Yes please react to a LFDH every week, you'll have so many people feel like they're in music heaven! After Sara Smile was Ooh Baby Baby which will put a smile on everyone's face. Daryl does most of the singing, as I read Smokey asked not to do that song when dining beforehand. Daryl (thankfully, cheekily snuck it in) and to his credit Smokey (& out of respect for Daryl) did join in! Rumer, Rob Thomas, Darius Rucker, Company Of Thieves, Diane Birch so many more amazing jams I've seen and some I've missed. Daryl creates and inspires such greatness, it's a joy to watch.

The guitar player here is the late great T-Bone Wolk, who had been with Daryl Hall and John Oates for nearly thirty years. He died suddenly of natural causes. Two guitarists succeeded him on the show but T-Bone's picture was always on the wall behind them.

Older guy here. I first heard Smokey at a teen center dance in 1960 with the song Shop Around. He hasn't missed a beat since. Smokey and The Miracles were big players in the evolution of Motown, which had great and enduring influence on music for many years. Don't know how old he was at Daryl's, but I think he is now 80, a legend among legends. Please keep doing Daryl's House.
