Turning 65 in a month. Fished all my life. Every one of your trips makes me feel young again. maybe someday I can get on one of your trips. If not, I want to thank you for making me hungry for these ocean beauties every week. I'm only a couple hours from Mendocino and everything below or above. Tomales bay sometime maybe? We're slappin' em up lately! lol . thanks again.

Sand dabs are the absolute best live bait for Lings. All my biggest lings were caught using them.

Nice work! Well you inadvertently answered a big question for me on sardines! I’m in SD and bought a half scoop of sardines, later while in the ocean, I caught three, what I thought were sardines? Put them in my bait tank and within an hour they were dead, but my purchased sardines were fine. Only difference was the ones I caught were a little darker, I thought they were sardines, but I bet they were herring… which I don’t know if I’ve ever seen down here?
@mikeconnor56683 ай бұрын
I got one of those bait tanks a few months back, and it works great down here in Orange County. Keeps sardines, mackerel and smelt all alive, and there's a lot less drag when trolling on my kayak than some of the net-type bait wells. And multiple people have asked, "what is that thing you're dragging?" When I tell them, they want to take pictures of it so they can get one.

What kind of set up do you use for bottom fishing.
@redtailpunk2 ай бұрын
im a complete novice just getting started down south of you. tryna understand all the regulations with rockfish/ling/etc. how do you manage the 50 fathom line and the 2 hook restriction when on the kayak? like using one setup for bait at the start of the day, is it legal to have that 2+ hook setup on a rod im not using if i got a 1/2 hook setup on the rod im targeting ling or cab with? thanks for all your videos, brother! i feel like i get to learn some lessons the easy way before hitting the surf/sea haha. keep it up
