I feel like the majority of the audience was people that weren’t sonic fans also the fact that the guy at end just sounds like he’s fed up of sonic stuff and literally not even a few seconds after this video ends they bring up dune almost like they wanted to quickly focus on something besides sonic.

Because it's adults in that room who more then likely don't even play sonic games seeing its not a major gaming franchise yes sonic is popular as a character but his games aren't and the story to sonic games aren't groundbreaking nor hold any weight after the main story concluded so seeing wings doesn't really matter.
