And no one from south America or Central America identifies as American, even if they “erm, technically ALSO live in America”. People who get hung up on this are just acting like know-it-alls.

You are right. America First means White Americans first - this has nothing to do with merit or super talent. Tatum does not know what he is talking about . . . we have plenty of White college, educated workers to do these tech jobs. I worked during the first tech boom; it was crazy. If you didn't come in on Sunday, you could forget about coming in on Monday. It was 16 hour work days. These tech companies want H1b visas slave workers because they can work these folks like dogs. They literally have to do whatever their employers say because if they get fired, they are immediately deported. This is how H1b visas work. Americans workers, unlike these tech slaves, just quit before you work them to death - not so with H1b workers. It is very obvious that Vivek and Elon cut a deal with Trump; because if not, he would have chimed in at this point. They tried to hide this fiasco which is why this story broke on light news days like around Christmas. Fortunately for us White Americans, Laura Loomer broke ranks and blew the whistle. If we don't watch out these Indians will have taken over Silicon Valley QED

Well, I agree. I voted for Trump because I have faith that he will do the absolute best job he can possibly do. BUT... he can't be a one man show. He needs backup from many, many people, especially with the swamp working overtime to throw roadblocks in front of him. So if he HAND PICKS the people he thinks will be best suited to address the various issues, I am going to trust him that he made these decisions with a particular goal in mind. Honestly, his picks so far are outstanding, better than anyone I could imagine, and certainly better than choosing from the pool of swamp rats available. If you voted for Trump, trust his process. This is basically what he did to build his Trump empire. Now he's using the same skills of hiring the right people to work for US, and hopefully, build the American empire.

I voted MAGA bc of Trump. Now, there are many things that I agree on with Elon and Vivek. That being said, one of my hesitations with Vivek when he was running was precisely the concern of him being a bit biased on the H1B visa topic, given his background-not being racist- just my opinion bc of my family’s current situation. My husband’s job of 20+ years was sold to a contractor who mainly hires H1B employees and now he’s been unemployed for almost a year unable to find a job in the field. That is NOT putting Americans first! I understand hiring the most competent person for the job, but booting people off to be able to hire elsewhere to avoid paying higher salaries and pensions is NOT what me and my husband voted for.

My main issue about the HB1 visas is that I have seen first hand the abuse of it. A town that I live near, has been literally overran by HB1 visa workers due to it being directly near a major tech employer. These workers have not assimilated and are taking over the middle class housing, destroying the community, and what used to be a nice neighborhood is just wrecked. They live 10+ to a house. The congestion on the streets is making even commuting miserable. Housing is already limited in my neck of the woods. These jobs could have gone to local individuals. People would kill for these jobs. The culture has been completely overhauled specifically for these visa employees. I have spoken to family members of these people employed at this business and they openly admit the housing developments have turned into small communities of these visa employees. More and more just come and it turns into hubs of immigrants. What used to be a middle America suburb is now literally a foreign immigrant hub. Not to sound intolerant, but I have witnessed and seen middle America get erased in my own back yard.

@@WakeUpDontTakeTheMark exactly, and I do not think it is intolerant to point this out. This neighborhood is what used to be the up and coming young neighborhood that my generation aspired to move into and we can’t. The few American born that live in the literal housing bubble that is there are looked weirdly upon because they are the outsider. This is a small/middle size town that has been swarmed literally because of this. This isn’t just about jobs. This is livable wages and limited resources such as housing too. Also, because these placements can be extended for years, those resources are gone… for years. They then become citizens. In the meantime too, they have babies and become permanent that way too. I know families with school age children and they are even the minority in the class to the children of the visa holders. This is a similar issue to the border towns; unless you live in or near the situation where the visa holding employees work- you don’t realize the situation and what it does to the community.

4:14 The problem is that companies abused H-1B visas for years in "specialized" occupations, especially in the tech sector. They would hire immigrant college students as interns, have them train under Americans, and when those students got to were they could do that that job the American would often be replaced for immigrant that will work for less. On top of that those immigrant would send a good portion of their salary back home instead of keeping it in our economy. What makes all of these even worse, some companies would then downsize their US work force after that and send those immigrant worker back to their home country to train a work force there to do those jobs. It's all creates a growing downward spiral. We elected Trump because we want America's interests to be prioritized and you can't do that if you don't put AMERICANS first! Prioritize educating and employing AMERICANS! Elon and Vivek showed themselves for who they are now. We have to be careful of who we trust in the future. 13:54 NO, we've seen the abuses of immigration and how companies make excuses regarding it for DECADES and we're done accepting it!

From Trump's, Elon's, and Vivek's "business perspective"... why put all that time, money, and energy into a system to produce top-rate American workers, who will only demand higher wages? When you can just import workers who've already had a better education, one that was paid for by ANOTHER country, and who will then accept lower wages? Again, if you look at America as a business instead of as a nation and a people -- it would be a really dumb investment.

Since the late 1970s H1B visas have been abused at an increasing rate. In the 1980s through 1990s this abuse increased significantly! In 1990s I know of a number of instances where Americans were displaced by H1B visa holders. In one case it was a Database Corporation which hired many on H1B visas. In one extreme case the computer chip manufacturer in Sacrament had a senior storage management man train his replacement. H1B visas, no.

H1B is used to bring in cheaper labor that an American could do. I have been in IT for 25 years and seen this grow every year. The skill gap is made wider because of our school system and college spending. Look at this generation to generation, and you will see the abuse. H1B is fine on paper but the generalized spider web of abuses that follow on is amazing and costing me the tax payer. The H1B generates the same issue as the illegal. Elan Musk is great but 1 of 65000 that came in on H1B that year

@Joseph32547
@Joseph32547 18 күн бұрын
The truth is they hire and import H1B visa workers, pay them 1/2 or less than the people they replace because if they loose their jobs or work for anyone else they are sent home, and charged for the plane ticket. Temporarily hire just means they rotate through. This is basically what happened to the entire construction field. If you don't have a license ,a degree, or both you no longer have a job. You can say whatever you want, but calling it lazy is BS. 127,600 H1b visas were granted in 2023 (USCIS DATA), which is FAR greater than the number you quoted. In 2023 around 172,173 H4 visas were granted (VISA GRADER). That is 299,773 jobs. Apparently Americans don't really need those 300,000 jobs. Americans have a hard time in engineering because of one thing. Finding a job. Many engineering jobs are outsourced or done by H1B visa replacements for cheap. The other problem no one wants to talk about is that University standards are different in many 2nd world countries. That and as the UK has found out many don't actually have a degree, they bought one or used a family members name that has a degree. Disney replaced nearly the ENTIRE I.t. team with H1B visas. This is NOT a fear, it is a reality. This happened at disney, and many other places. The people that were being replaced were required to train their replacements for months. Elon musk came over as an international student, not on an h1b visa. The ones of us who have done the research are worried because we do know. Why hire an engineering grad at 69,000 per year when you can import 2 for 71,000 total AND NOT PAY FOR THEIR HEALTH CARE AND VACATION TIME BECASUE THEY ARE TEMPORARY WORKERS. This is the reason why many americans are not in many jobs. Bottom line, its not a competition. It's just like hiring an employee, not having to pay for health insurance, not having to pay for holiday pay, not having to pay for vacation, can fire them at will as they are temporary workers (leading to making them work lots of overtime), and not having to pay them just over half of what you would normally hire someone as. What you thing it is, is not what it is.

I think Vivek made a really good point, personally. He’s telling us to look back at the last 40 or so years, where we’re at today due to that and realize that we can’t compete on the world’s stage in certain technical fields. For those we are best off importing talent until we can shine ourselves up. He also talked about how he wants reform and protections for these immigrants who’d be chosen for these visas. I think if he can achieve the goals he’s stated along with the rest of us tightening up the education of our youth to the degree that’s necessary we fill the gap that’s being held theoretically by these visa holders. If we can’t do the jobs we’re just going to fail. So fixing this on all ends is just necessary.

This issue does not fall under the purview of DOGE, and I feel like they are trying to influence legislation that would benefit their companies. We have had our fill of gov't officials operating that way. They both should stay in their lane of cutting wasteful spending. Yes, we need to halt ALL status' of immigration immediately. For how long? That depends. As for this HB visa bill.... at the very least there should be a max # of these visas approved with a 2 year limit. And also stipulations within it that person must stay working for whatever company is sponsoring them. However.... US companies are already outsourcing many jobs to India, Pakistan, etc as call center operators and other remote tech jobs.... we MUST keep Americans first in all aspects. Period.

Doesn't this show that the education system is a massive failure 🤔? 300+ million American citizens, yet America still needs to import foreign workers? This debacle simply highlights the failure of the education system. Is this intentional 🤔? So here in the UK, we have agencies that find health workers for our National Health Service (NHS). They'll find workers from the Philippines. A country that is 3rd world. They are offered £20/25 per hour as advertised in the Philippines. When converted to the Filipino peso, it looks massive. Then, the company that brings these people into the UK health service, they'll take £5 per hour on every hour that Filipino will earn. We, the British people, end up paying for this through our taxes. Then, the indigenous British workers in the health system will struggle with the wages they are able to demand. If the indigenous British health care worker doesn't like it, they can leave their job. What this does is it keeps wages low, making it very difficult for the British workers to have a half decent life. BTW, I'm not blaming those who come here from the Philippines. I blame our successive governments. All people around the world want to improve their lives. However, priority must be to the indigenous people of that country.

These American workers were doing a good job and were replaced because the lawmakers made it easy to replace, by a cheaper H1B visa worker. Officer Tatum, you are not seeing the entire problem. The H1B visa workers are not always highly skilled, they’re janitors, cooks, cleaners etc… they are not better, more skilled workers… they’re just cheaper and have little options, so they can’t just leave if they’re mistreated. They’re indentured servants who are paid less than Americans. Trump needs to refocus Elon and Vikek to government waste… otherwise THEY ARE FIRED!

Where in America can a mother/father work for $15 an hour and support themselves let alone a family? It's impossible! Even if in a family the mother and father make $15 an hour! That is still impossible! In the 1950's a family could survive in a single family home with only Dad working full-time. Our country is run by gready rich people who use the laws to benefit themselves by not compensating their employees enough to support their family without working three(3) jobs! Which basically removes Dad from the household other than the bare minimum time to sleep before going back to the next job!. The US has become a country run by the rich to benefit the rich by paying the bare minimum to employees! Which is a huge contributor to broken homes and homelessness. This country will be forever stuck in a situation where there is no such thing as the middle class. In 2024 you are either rich or shit poor! 💯 Prove me wrong.

H1B shouldn’t bring his family unless he becomes a legal resident. So what’s happens with the H1B visa who becomes legal thanks you? Are you replacing him with another H1B visa? The answer is YES! Why would you pay the H1B turned new legal resident more $$$$ when you can pay a new H1B visa less for same job. This is vicious cycle to avoid hiring Americans. Also, you failed to mentioned you can fire the H1B visa w/o repercussions because the H1B depends on the sponsor for immigration status unlike Americans. Now, it is fair say that natural born Americans, specially minorities (black and Hispanics) do NOT get STEM degrees and that’s a problem too which needs to be addressed.

When it comes to this H1 visa. This is how it works. I am one of those who came to America in mid 85 from Philippines on H1 visa as an RN. I had to go through interviews,vetting before being able to come to America. The agency had to prove that they had posted for jobs in US but none applied before they could be approved to hire abroad.That was the system and still is. We were several nurses that started with NYC hospital public sector. I came and was the only nurse working with 2 nurses aide every night in 18 inpatient psychiatric unit for a yearThats how short staffed they were. I was shock because the private hospital I came from in my birth country was way better in aesthetics and made in USA instruments. I came to US , we were using many made in China . I didn't understand then but I did later on. I was terrified ,placed in Harlem and a petite nurse dealing with big agitated patients and those flipping out from using angel dust. I had to suck it up, I didn't have choice. I signed contract It took me 6 years before I got my green card then 5 years to get my US citizenship. Most of us weren't able to bring families in US because our parents only wants to be in US for vacation . If your from Philippines, it takes 23 to 25 years to be able to petition siblings to come to America. By that time , some died already and some a lot older and not interested in coming. Being alone in US was a sacrifice I had to do to better my life financially but was lonely not having family members around. I worked for NYC Health and Hospitals for 38 years and now retired. Filipino nurses are the best nurses anyone to have. The reason to that is not everyone can be a nurse in my country unlike in America many take nursing for the salary. Dedication,compassion for the patients comes first and to your profession. Nursing students are selected properly that they are appropriate for the profession. I am for H1 b to fill jobs that can't be filled by Americans and should be allowed to hire abroad . The govt must monitor agencies hiring abroad because many abuse the system and victimizes the people they hire.

I love your channel! 🙌🏻 I am a Veteran with 3 degrees, two in STEM and an MBA and I decided to say eff it and be a stay at home mom. The main reasons are due to working for companies and leaders that do not know how to use my skills and being so incredibly bored out of my mind, or using my skills to further bad peoples agenda which I find out later. I have no problem working long hours, weekends or being on call but there has to be a damn point. I’m not just gonna sit around and twiddle my damn thumbs. The training in these companies are also horrendous. It’s way more complicated of an issue that is a hydra and shipping in people from other counties will not fix anything at all, it will probably just demotivate them too.🤦🏻‍♀️

I think there need to be restrictions regarding the number of HB one visas allowed per company and your entire department cannot be foreign. There should also be restrictions regarding wages for these people. These people should be paid American wages and American wages only we should not allow companies to undercut Americans by hiring foreigners. If a foreigner is that valuable then they ought to be paid what they’re worth in this country not what they’re willing to work for and theirs.

Does anyone remember when this started decades ago? Lots of people from countries like India and others coming and getting jobs that Americans should've gotten. Employers conveniently said there were no satisfactory people in the U.S. to fill the roles - still happening today. So, they hire through agencies that market the Visa holders. They seem cheaper, but cost more, long term. Agency fees, Visa sponsorship, giving the employees 6 months to travel back to their country to renew visas (easier done in a country other than US which has stricter requirements). Meanwhile, workload is often dumped on the other workers, timelines delayed, or they hire interim staff (which often don't have the expertise). Additionally, the work product is labeled as property of the hiring agency, not the company for which the work is being done. There is a lot more than just visas. A lot more politics, impact on employees (less chance for promotions, job opportunities, training,, etc.). This isn't just about not having technical skills, companies save a lot of money on the cheaper labor, but the skills get silo'd. When contracts for the visa holders are canceled, there's no onshore skills for those particular roles - because the employers enabled a process where there was no cross training. This will just be a rehash of what happened 20 years sgo.

Well being a person that has to go against H1B visa folks, i disagree with it unless Americans are hired first! They are limited in pay so they would rather hire a foreigner than an American. There are a lot of people that are not getting hired by employers that hire foreigners. I am in the tech industry and businesses do a lot of off shore hiring. Banks are huge in hiring and sponsoring H1B visas. So if you really want to know how it works i would be happy to discuss this with you

You are being played.

The problem is, even if Americans are qualified, H1B visa recepitants are paid less bc they have lower income expectations. It is like indentured servants because they are dependent on the employer's good graces to remain in this country. Elon was not a H1B visa recipient.

Payroll is usually the biggest part of a business's budget. Add in health care, matching payroll tax, 401k match, and you start wondering why you even bothered. If we get rid of the H1 visas, we also need to add in a way to lower the cost of hiring Americans. Most employers prefer to hire Americans anyway, they just can't afford it.

2 things... probably a few more if I really analyze the situation, but off the top of my head, 1: con: a company sponsoring an immigrant would basically own them and can also abuse them by holding their status over their head. We know that's going to happen. 2: Elon Musk didn't come to this country the best and brightest. He was a kid going to college. He was educated through the American system. We need to improve our colleges and pull them from our own education system before we import them in. Vivak is also a product of America. We need to focus on America 1st.
