Despite his personal issues, Lars is fearless in his storytelling and direction. His social commentaries are tragic but real & relatable. Especially for those who have depression or have experienced some sort of trauma. I'm glad you both appreciate his films as art. Thank you. Edit: I'm about 15 minutes from Northampton, Massachusetts. It's a very cute town, and you'd both love it. Very quaint, great restaurants, creative types, mostly local businesses, and lots of nature around Western Mass.

Ayn Rand's books reflect her tedious, boring and wrong-headed beliefs in supremacy and support for eugenics-derived social engineering. I and my high school AP English book list wish you well. I metaphorically choked my teacher for making me read this dreck.

Unfortunately, I share a birthday with her. But her ideology spawned my favorite video game series of all time, Bioshock, which is phenomenal.

Later in life, after writing all her crap, she was fully accepting Medicare and other government welfare benefits … which is pretty funny if you’re familiar with her books and shitty belief system

From the opening comments in regard to the 3 hours length, and time period of this movie - very informative! Got me thinking, about patience, and guessing that this a rough cult mining community for NK to 'tame?' A sequel would not be necessary seeing how it ended either😉😊

Have you two seen Dancer In The Dark? Nick didn't mention it when he was listing the Von Trier movies so I was curious. It's really good, imo.

I loved every piece you kept. That black beveled mirror is gorgeous and I am happy you were able to find something in gold to avoid painting it. Also, love the way you styled each piece and the bedroom picture light is perfect! As for the closet, that suede jacket on the LV wall looks so lux. 😍

I’m still recovering from Melancholia but once I do I’m going to watch Melancholia again and then after that I’ll watch Dogville. Maybe early 2026.

The visuals in Melancholia are worth watching if only for that. I sometimes fast forward just to get to the part when the planet starts moving closer. It's so cool. My opinion anyway 😎

I guess the last von Trier movie I watched wholey, was "Idiots" his first long film. It's a interessting Film, but I really hated the scene where the Man in the group force one woman to have an orgy.I watched the making of on the DVD and it seemed that he acted really insane and very, very unprofessionell up to the point that he was jelous his own actors. I really wonder if his movies are made for my nerves. I felt really dirty for quit a while and wasn't Sure if it was worth it.
