I love New York, but I could never live there (yup, I said it!) LOL. I have visited New York many, many times over the last 30 years and I really do love it, but for me, it does come with a certain bit of "urban anxiety." Getting around is more complicated. Going to a store like IKEA or Home Depot and bringing home large items is more complicated. Hell, just doing weekly grocery shopping is more complicated. Not to mention jostling with the crowds in the subway and on the street. Maybe I should rephrase it and not say I could NEVER live there, because I probably could--let's just say I don't think I'd feel as comfortable living there (I grew up in a small city in New Hampshire). But I'm glad I get to see New York through the eyes of the Beeps!

As someone from NY and has lived there for 19 years (I consider college to be an extended temporary leave), I can definitely give the seal of approval for "debeeping" the myths. Although I will admit that the rent is becoming a bit pricey, one just has to search well for those nice, affordable spaces. As for noise -yeah, it's pretty quiet in Brooklyn. Even if one lives right by the subway, it's not as loud as one thinks it would be. Take care!

Moving to New York is one of my ultimate goals in life. I have been obsessed with that city since i was 13, and last year I finally had the opportunity to wander around its streets and see it with my own eyes. The obsession got worse. *You guys are **_so_** awesome!!!*

I'm sorry guys but I am one of the few that have no interest living in a big city. The town I live in has 3000 people, if I want to go to a bigger city I can go to Pittsburgh that's about 45 minutes away. but glad you love where you live as you should.

Last time I went there, March of this year, I stayed at a friend's house in the Bronx area and I was shocked that she didn't lock her doors. She said it was safe bec she lived in a Jewish neighborhood/community. I made her promise to be more vigilant. Anyway, great video as always! I love New York! I feel more alive and animated when I'm in the city.

been to NYC four times on work related trips........the piss smell was my biggest issue......me and my husband live in Seattle, and wouldn't want to live anywhere else.......got Vancouver B.C. and Portland Oregon to party and have good times

Im back in my home state of Maine... which i ached for so i came home...but of all the larger cities..Boston..LA... Nashville... Orlando and NYC...NYC was my absolute favorite... id recommend to anyone who wants to live in a big city... The Big Apple is the most fulfilling and romantic...❤❤❤ the Beeps... stay in NYC... i find LA too Boushie...lol sorry LA..😁

You basically said the same things my now, sadly, deceased friend Stephanie said after she went to live in Brooklyn and work as a chorus singer with the Metropolitan Opera. I will say that London has been the top unrelentingly noisiest city I have ever visited. Boston ran a close second. My three hour memory of NYC (when traveling to Europe in 1971) was a pigeon shitting on my friend's head on Sixth Avenue in mid-town Manhattan.

NY just seems more atractive to me than almost any other city in the US. Maybe only topped by Seattle... I would love to live in Washington State, or in Oregon

I think the "crime" part is due to people comparing the raw numbers of a particular type of crime (whatever is currently in the news for example) and compare it to their city/town without considering the fact that there are a LOT more people living in NYC so by the time you do a per capita comparison the percentage of crime to residents is MUCH lower. I read an article comparing NYC to some other, much smaller place and the type of crime they were looking at was 3 times as high but there were 10 times as many people so the per capita numbers were much lower! It's what you make of it that determines your experience! ☺

Some of those I can understand...but I still don't think it's an uber affordable place regardless of where in the city you're living. I'm paying like $600+ a month, and I don't think I'd be able to swing another $1000+ for rent each month. :(

Sorry NYC there is no way. Too many people for the size of the area. NYC news is scary!!! Will take a small town anytime...! it's ok to visit for one day. It takes a lot of money to live in a better area there. LA has lots of space.
